I'm also interested in if they "settle" after a couple weeks.

Bimmerfan, to help people know how much they settle, measure from the center of the lip of the wheel well to the top lip of the wheel (typically easiest) or to the center of the wheel. Take measurements on all 4 corners. Then in say week or 2 depending on how many miles you drive (150-200) then take another measurement same way. So many people are curious about how much they settle.

[IMG][/IMG] Also yeah I am familiar with coilovers as I ran Stasis/Koni kit on my CC. Love them and they are a huge improvement over stock on the CC. However my m sport with DHP is a far superior stock suspension. [IMG][/IMG] |

Spaceman - That Blue F30 does look good. I think spacers make a big difference.

Yah its already been a few days so might be a moot point but worth a shot. If anything it will give people an idea how far it did drop. They can measure and see if that is how far they want to go down. |

20x9 et 35 20x10 et 35 Thanks man, I did love that car and got a ton of compliments. But for some reason I only kept it 6 months Cool, yeah I am hoping a wider wheel with different offset will help give me the look without using spacers. |

The alignment seems to be right now, but I have to go back because the steering is slightly off center to the right. I printed out the Dinan recommended alignment settings for the springs and handed it to the tech to follow as closely as possible. I attached my report along with Dinan recommended specs for point of reference. Here are update pics of the car and how much the springs have settled. They were installed on Monday. I drive 70 miles a day.
Measurements taken from the highest point of the fender lip to smack dead center where the propellers meet on the wheel: Left front: 13 3/4 Right front: 13 3/4 Right Rear 13 3/4 Left Rear: 14 - wtf AlignSpecF30.pdf Last edited by BimmerFan; 02-27-2014 at 01:12 PM.. |

I wouldn't worry about a 1/4". Sometimes that is the drawback of spring installs, but not a crazy difference unless you are OCD. Is 14" drivers or passengers side?

Most likely the extra weight of the battery brings the passenger side down by a 1/4". Give it some time and see what happens. Again it might have been that way from the factory. Pablo you have a similar car. Measure yours. |

Yeah, I guess you're right. I called Dinan anyway and I was told to take a chill pill in essence and drive the car for 2k miles or so for the springs to properly find their home. I'll keep you all posted. Dinan engineer told me my alignment is now perfect and in no way in hell should it pull in any direction. He was right. He said centering the steering is no big deal and a slight oversight by the tech. The poor guy was focusing so much in getting the numbers correct because of such a fuss I made, he overlooked where the steering was pointed
