Ship Shortage
Anyone have any intel on what’s going on? Cars that were produced in late September and since, are sitting at the port, waiting for a vessel. My car has been at port for a month! BMW won’t give any explaination...

I don't believe that to be true at all. First week of October production from Dingolfing plant left Germany fine, through Bremerhaven. One of those is my order which is already in Canada making it's way to the west coast by rail. Perhaps an issue with specific orders or a specific BMW facility?

I was just speaking to my dealer as mine got released to carrier yesterday. He mentioned that BMW has been having transport issues and didn't want to commit to delivery times showing up on their system.

Well, my concern is that it needs to make its way to the USA which is a two week process. Plus another week by ground carrier, once it arrives at point of entry. Still, I don’t understand why it’s been sitting in Germany for a month after production

I just checked the WWL tracking tool and I made the ship. So mine moved right along and with any luck, it will be a Christmas present. Obviously no delay on my shipment.

It's been 2 weeks at the port for me. Called today and it's still stuck there. No explanation as to why it hasn't made the ship. No estimate as to when it'll hitch a ride either...
I'm just hoping that someone moves it once in a while, as I'd rather not have flat spots on my tires from the very beginning... Still pissed about it though! Guess no Christmas present from me to me. |

Not sure it's related, but my (UK) delivery date has gone from the 3rd week of dec (when I asked for an update on Friday) to 1st week of Jan (when I asked for an update today), despite finishing the build today!?! I hope the Genius and/or their info is wrong. Christmas is almost "Officially" ruined :-(
And yes, I appreciate that chasing them every couple of days for an update is lunacy |

My dealer just told me they have multiple cars stuck at the port with no shipment estimate. I was told it's a shipping shortage, but it seems weird that some people are still getting their cars on the boat, while others are just freezing there. Mine was completed Nov 17, with 2-3 days from Dingolfing to Bremerhaven, so it's been sitting there since Nov 20. WTF BMW?

My 530e was completed in Dingolfing on 11/9. reached Bremerhaven on 11/16, was loaded on 11/18 and departed on 11/19 and is now at the Panama Canal. Wonder how the queue is done.
Well...I am happy but if I were in the group waiting to be loaded onto a ship I certainly would not be happy. |

Well, apparently a few of us missed like 4-5 boats already. I feel like these cars were parked in the back of the lot, but they keep taking from the front... or some dude whose job was to deal with that batch just said F it... and walked out (hopefully they're currently searching for a replacement). Frustrating nonetheless.

I just found out I'm on Baltimore Hwy (KLine). Should be stateside on 12/15 (although their schedule says 12/18). Either way, at least it's moving. Anyone else on this ship?

My 530e completed production in Dingolfing Dec. 11th and made it to the Seafreight Port of Zebrugge, Belgium earlier today. Supposed to be on a ship scheduled to depart for North America Dec. 16th. Perhaps BMW has figured out an alternative routing to avoid the Port congestion in Bremerhaven. ???? Whatever the case I'll happily take it!
