Brown woods look out of place in a car like this. However, the Dark Poplar trim looks great in the car. The problem with aluminum, for me, is that is getting put in nearly every car. So now it just seems to ordinary to be considered special or sporty. Also, all of the aluminum trims scream plastic.

I still think the poplar wood will warm the interior of this little car. |

Correct me if I’m wrong but in the 3 and 5 series I’ve been in they appeared to just be wood patterned plastic and not actually wood. I’ve had aluminum in other cars and it dents a tad easy for me. I have piano black now and if that is offered I’d opt for that.

Wood is fine
When looking at Cayennes they all had the standard interior program. When the "Ole Ball and Chain" insisted on power assist steering, the only one on the lot had wood accents on the dash. It really dressed up the car. I think it looks great.
Course it all depends on how the metal trim options look and feel. If they're cheap and dent easily, I'll take the wood. I can't wait for this car! ein-er |

I don't get how you dent the aluminium? I mean I know it's dentable, but what do you guys do in your cars to cause dents?

I really like the wood in the 3er; it flows across the dash in a nice arc. The 1er photos make it look a little more "tacked on" and they don't excite me.
So my wife will probably order wood in her '08 3er, and I'll probably go for the aluminum. I have alu trim in my VW GLI, and I really like it; especially in a dark colored interior. |

Yeah why get a nav. system + leather + logic 7 audio + wood trim + active steering, and top it off with a slushbox for the same price as an 135+vishnu chip[1]
