Any one running mirror tap for radar? Trying to hard wire it in but not sure which wires to tap.

There are a few threads on this. Looks like this might be one of the cleanest tutorials without getting digging through a bunch of questions/answers:

I tried tapping into the wires above the overhead console, as outlined in the prior link. However, I did not have a wire pin tap that could access the "back" side of the connectors. I also did not want to cut into the very thin wires.

Instead, I used an add-a-circuit tap at the passenger side fuse box (circuit F64 or F65). I then ran wiring up the A pillar and out through the vanity lights. See my Feb 3, 2022 postings on https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...ghlight=ph1958. Good luck!

The wiring is easy to hide behind the A pillar along the side that meets the door. The wiring can then be tucked into the top of the A pillar to get to the headliner. By removing the center overhead console, you can pull the wiring into the open space between the headliner and the roof. You can then route the wiring through the opening of the vanity light.

Alright ppl how the heck do you take out this plug?? I have tired the red and yellow for + and brown for -, with two different types of mirror tap still no power. Not sure what the heck is going on. Been tapping for years this X7 giving me issues. Might have to go to the fuse box route.

If you can please post a pic exactly where you ran your wires through the roof area I would really appreciate it. Also did you use a fuse tap?

You will see the gap between the headliner and the roof when you remove the overhead console. Also, I used an add-a-circuit fuse tap.

Went at it again this morning. But going with fuse tap route. Not plugged into the box yet waiting on tap to arrive. But that's the easy part.

Same path that I took...good luck!

My next project is to install a Thinkware front/rear dash cam. I will use a wire puller to snake the wiring above the headliner (from the one of the rubber wire "tubes" at the upper part of the trunk opening to the center overhead console).

How did you wire up the ground? I tired it with the airbag box bolt but no go.

Never mind got it working, just had to align the ground wire properly.
