Keep telling yourself whatever helps you sleep better at night.

What's sad is that you're potentially fooling people into believing your nonsense.

I deal in reality unlike yourself, and in that last pic my rear seats "are moved all the way back..🥴" and that's the room I'm left with. Same as my X5.

At this point I literally could not care less what you think or believe. It's woefully obvious that you're delusional as hell. Arguing with an idiot makes me one too so this will be my last post regarding this issue.

What's seriously crazy is that the President of BMW could come on here and clearly explain to you that the room is the same and you'd still deny it, talking about "well you need the special handicapped bench seat only available in Belarus." Whatever dude.

We purchased the X7 because it is more comfortable in the second row for family as compared to the X5. We do not use the 3rd row, except for luggage. Again, they were previously jammed against the front seats in the X5, but now they aren't. You guys can argue measurements all you want. And who cares. Buy what you want. I guess the X5 rides as nice as X7 too. Lol

I'm not fooling anybody. You are posting baseless claims.
I, however, posted videos as evidence and other users even supported that information as valid.

It's not the same. My video is evidence. With the seats all the way back in the second row, the X7 with captain's chairs has 3" more room in the second row and with the bench, that grows to 3.5".

Where is YOUR video backing up YOUR claim?

It's not what I think or believe. It's based on what I know and posted here for EVERYONE to see.

BTW, I do not tolerate you calling me that way and your post will be reported.

That will never happen. I mean, why should he claim something that 99% of users who own or owned both could debunk in a minute?

There is tape-measured proof of the leg room difference. How is this even an argument anymore? Some people refuse to admit they were wrong, no matter how incontrovertible the proof.

Point I'm trying to make is that there's exactly the same amount of room in my old F15 X5 and this current XB7.

People will keep debating until the cows come home but I'm living the real answer every single day.

Here's hoping they remedy this problem with the upcoming XM EV which will not have a 3rd row.
I mean you are in the top 0.1% of human size across the globe. The issue you are experiencing will continue to be an issue for you, no matter what. Your seat is indeed set back a lot and even the seat backrest is at quite an angle - I'm guessing to accommodate for head room.
I have always wondered though why BMW made the X7 specifically as a third row vehicle and did not add a bit more width, height and length to it than they have - I always feel like they could've made it larger than it is.

Either way - don't fret - you're still driving an Alpina and that must feel great no matter the 2md row legroom

There is definitely 3-4 inches of more leg room in the X7 vs. X5 IFFFFF you slide the 2nd row all the way back. But then you sacrificy 3rd row leg room.
I dont care/need/use the 3rd row. So I have my 2nd row bench all the way back and it’s very roomy and comfortable

Apparently BMW measures the 2nd row leg room in the “mid” position, hence the “0.2 inches” of more leg room

I think we are overlooking some of Al's comments, though….namely….he basically is the size of an NBA small forward at 6'7" LOL. That is going to rob a foot of space because of where his front seat likely has to be versus someone like me at 6 foot 1.

No doubt that has an impact on the remaining rear legroom on any vehicle. At that front seat setting, those sitting behind him won't feel comfortable in ANY vehicle - LOL!

But that's still not going to result in the same second row legroom on an X5 compared to the X7 with the seats/bench all the way back.

From the front of the metal seat rail of the 2nd row bench to the back of the front seat rail is 15.25" in my 3rd row equipped G05.

Someone with a bench seat in the X7 do the same measurement to see what the difference in space is between the rails. Since the 3rd row X5 shares the same bench with the X7, that should give another data point in regards to how much space difference there is.

It's just a tad over 17" in my X7 with bench seating.

We went over front legroom space in another thread a while ago, need to know everyone's inseam vs torso length to get a full picture, I was surprised to see some of those combinations. A random 6'7" person might have shorter legs then someone at 6'1".

Just offering it out there - back when I was doing my research, I saw a post somewhere (I think in this forum) that the bench seat had more legroom than captains when moved all the way back (somehow the bench allowed more rearward movement).

Before we bought the X7 with the bench seat, I sat in a bench seat X7 and a captains seat X7 immediately back to back with the driver's seat in the same position on both. There was a decent amount of more legroom between my knees and the back of the driver seat. I don't remember how many inches specifically but I would not be surprised if it was at least 4 inches or so.

This actually sealed it for us because we sit three across the second row instead of using the third row.

We test drove an X7 and X5 back to back and my kids bitched about the X5 legroom.

They love the X7 we ended up buying. (Kids are 15 and 17).

I also have a current gen X5 and it’s much tighter across the back than in the x7.
