Reasons for M60i to be slightly higher than previous 40i?
Just what title says. I traded on my 2023 X7 40i with 22” 755M wheels for a 2023 X7 M60i with 21” 745M wheels. On the same air suspension setting, the M60i is higher off the ground than the 40i was.
What are y’all’s ground clearances at mid-level setting from the ground to bottom of the trim by the driver or passengers side door? Last edited by tinfoiltuna; 12-22-2023 at 05:29 PM.. |

21" wheels are slightly larger in diameter than the 22s.
31.2 vs 30.7 could also just be a fluke of how the suspension leveled. is the loading height the same? that should be almost fully dropped.

A little bit off topic, but I noticed, according to the official PDF specifications, that the 50i and 50d have a worse aerodynamic coefficient than the 30d, 40i, 40d. (0.34 vs 0.33) I don’t really understand why.

Interesting - was not aware the coefficients are different. Does weight affect the coefficient or it's solely measured by how air flows across the external surface of the car?
I emailed BMW geniuses to see what the standard height should be. It really feels like the car is higher than it should be, but also may be a figment of my imagination. |

Turns out I was right - tech at dealership did the measurements and found both rear and front were higher than it should be. They did a recalibration of driving height and all is good with the world.
