Drivers Assistance Region Change?
Saw something interesting on our trip from Texas to Maryland this past week.
Each time when we crossed state lines, the message “Drivers Assistance Region Change” came up. Has anyone else seen this and what could it mean. Do you think drivers assistance may have restrictions and or controls placed on it depending on which state you’re in? Wonder if there are efforts being thought about to restrict autonomous driving systems at the state level. Even if the technology is ready to go I could see some states possibly restricting the tech due to safety concerns maybe? Who knows…just thought it was interesting to see the system recognize when I crossed state lines and saying there was a change. I have a 2023 X7, so no full hands free. |

Interesting! There are very significant differences between countries. I didn't realize that crossing some State lines had lesser mods. Thanks for your post!

With recent trips from Alabama to Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina, the message pops up at every state line crossing and works on different levels in every state. Florida seems to have the most assistance. Georgia comes in second, with TN and NC tied for third. Alabama doesn't win, place, or show. NADA, zip, zilch.

Thanks for posting this info. This confirmed my theory that the traffic sign feature had to be state geo fenced as some folks reported it working perfectly and others where no warnings were being displayed.

While driving around Orlando, Lake Buena Vista and WDW in particular, I had red lights and stop signs. I seemed to notice if I was already in the process of braking, the stop signs would not necessarily appear.

Thanks. I don't drive in Orlando or Lake Buena Vista frequently, but I'll see if I get stop sign & red light indication if I don't bake early. I am on the East Coast of FL. On which screen or HUD are you seeing the indications?

I keep Assist View in HUD and Augmented Reality on the instrument cluster. IIRC, the signs show up on both, much like the red car image of tailgating. I also drive a lot with Drive Assist engaged, so that helps with the sign/light indications. I just returned from an oil change, and the SA said if I had braked, which stops Drive Assist, that should also shut off the sign/light indications.
