Annoyed with BMW service

I'm at Stevens Creek BMW, the meet and greet was very unpleasant. Interacted with 3 people total, and not once did anyone smile. Stood around and spoke to another x7 owner and he felt the same way.

1. Alignment is warranty for 2k. Dropped it off at 2180m and they wouldn't fix it, wanted me to bring it back to the dealer I got it from 60 miles away. Honda is 10k Volvo is 12k and so

2. Asked about OTA update not working, he asked if I paid for the update. I'm like wtf the car is a month old. He's said updates are not free. I WTF again and said check your facts.

Experienced the same thing when we were shopping hence we didn't buy from this dealer. Didn't even try after actually. Was hoping the service is going to be different but meh.

exactly what I did...

My last car was lemon due to an alignment issue and I don't wish for this one to be but any issues I'd like to documented.

Had I been 500+ miles over I would just pay for the alignment but 180 miles is basically 2 days of driving. What bother me most is their enthusiasm to keep a satisfying customer. Other dealers would probably offer to call the MFG on my behalf and try to get it done for me.

MB did my master brake cylinder 100% free of charge when my car was over 30k miles out of warranty and I didn't even have to ask.

That's right, BMW alignment warranty is for 2k miles. What was the basis for bringing the car for alignment? 2k miles is not enough to notice any uneven tire wear... hence, they give you 2k miles warranty.

I tried them all - BMW of Mountain View, Stevens Creek, Fremont. ALL of them suck. The services is unbelievably bad. The most recent BMW I leased from Rusnak - I flew in and drove the car back to the Bay Area. The car is going for free of charge maintenance to Mountain View as the service is 5 mins from my place. This is lease, so I don't care. The second BMW I own and when it was under free of charge maintenance I always put the message on the dashboard DO NOT WASH. They are really bad.

Dealers uses the cheapest guy to wash the cars. My brand new X7 already had swirl marks when I picked it up. I had to get that fixed by a proper detailer followed with ceramic coat. Now I also request DO NOT WASH when I drop it off for service.

I've noticed a slight steer to the right since the initial test drive which I pointed out to the sales person. Due to the road condition, she thought it could be the road. Being with the car for only 15-20 min I could not determine for sure. Before taking delivery, I asked them to check the alignment before I came in but that never happened. The car had 60 miles on it when I pick it up. After driving it for the first couple hundred miles, I confirmed for sure that the car needed an alignment. The steering wheel does not go back dead center and it is also off center. I'm in a 5 series loaner at the moment and it track straight and precise.

My other vehicles all had 10-12k miles warranty on the alignment. So I was under the assumption that I was good for some time before bringing it in. I let the list of service build up before it's worth while to bring in as it's always a drag to bring any car in for service.

The dealer car wash is horrible and even delivery of BMW kind of suck if you ask me. My car has always received the two bucket/foam gun treatment since the day of purchase and since the first wash, I noticed the swirls already.

FWIW: When I took delivery of a Honda at Ocean Burlingame 8 months ago, they brought the car (brand new) in for a full detail inside out nicely polished and all. I know this because they took me to the back to see the car being worked on. Likewise with my Volvo XC 90, that I picked up in Seattle. When I flew in, the vehicle was in detail and yes I witness it as well. Truely detailing not just a wash and it was also brand new.

The best thing to ask BMW dealer is not to touch / wash the car when is being delivered. The paint from factory is poor. Dealers make is only worse.

You don't seem very confident with BMW quality. Lol 1 week in the shop is too soon to say.

The experience with this dealership is getting worse and worse. I gave them my digital key card when i dropped off the car and now they seems to have no idea where it is. Been a couple days, left a message for the SA and still no call back. WTF
