I put a set of 285/45/22 Blizzaks all around on stock, cerium grey 755M wheels. Tires fit well despite square tire set-up on staggered rims.

I have a set of Savini SV-F4 black 22x10 and 22x12 rims waiting to go on the car as soon as snow is gone for the season. Will post pictures once installed.

I ended up going with XO Madrid wheels 20x9 +20 and +36 for all four corners and Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 275/50r20. Wheels are black with dark tint.

I'm glad I ended up staying with the 22" stock tires. I'm in New York and the winter was very warm as predicted so at least for this season I saved money and I didn't have to do any changes. Next winter may be a different story.

Looks sharp! I'm surprised you were able to fit 20" over M brakes. I thought 21" would be minimum.

I like the look and heft / strength of the stock rims, so I decided to stick with 22" for winter. Hopefully Savinis will be as strong as oem for the summer.

They look much better in person....I actually like the look of the snow tire over the performance tire.

They look good and reasonably priced as well for the set. If you throw some BMW roundel center caps on them, they will almost look stock. Where did you get the set from, Tire Rack? Also, what was the cost of the wheels, TPMS and tires before install?

Thanks! We r trying to track down center caps in that size. I got them thru a local company I always use (Jack Williams Performance).

Tires $196.31 x 4 plus tax and install = $867.45
Wheels $353 x 4 plus $24.75 per sensor = $1,512.19

There was window tint to the tune of $78.50 so price was less than original quoted $2,500.

For the 40i (non-M), has anyone consider 255/55 R 20 (10" footprint vice ~11")? It seems like a 20" x 9" rim would be able to fit the 255s or the 275s. I like the idea of a more narrow patch for winter setup. Curious as to what others think and/or have experienced? Is that too narrow?

When shopping for Rims, would any 20x9 setup work or do I need a specific ET as well? Thanks for the help.

Great tires I actually did the continental DWS when I had my X5M my truck was sitting in H&R springs + spacers downpipes exhaust tunes everyone and there mother said don't take the car out in the snow it will never move and I'm gonna get stuck. I tried numerous times to get stuck all the truck did was haul ass through the snow if it was over 12" it even plowed the snow lol

Took the X-7 in today for the 20k service and had them swap the 21" Blizzaks out and put the factory 755M wheels back on. Looks like a different car. The Blizzaks have a little over 10k miles on them with a 4400 mile round trip to Colorado and a 3k mile Vermont trip on them. We should get a few more trips out of them. Can't say that for the 22's that came on it though. They also have about 10k miles and we'll be lucky to squeeze another 4-5k miles out of them. 20k miles in 10-1/2 months.

Do any of you X7 Owners know if these 748M Wheels made for the X5 would fit?

I think I am going to go with a recommended option here for m50. Order set of Savini’s and put Original summer tires on those. Then order set of blizzarks for winter and put them on OEM wheels and as I understand 285 blizzarks should fit all around.

I got 22x12 for the rear on my m50i. Looks great. I'm planning to go up to 325 tires once original set is done with. Not sure about offset unfortunately, savini distributor handled that...

So I had Savini's installed and put the original summer run flats on them. Definitely a good choice - thanks all for the recommendations here. I should have done ceramic coating on them, but oh well - will pick a weekend this summer and do it then. Few days of driving, and they nice glossy finish is already gone

I have been doing more research into the winter set up. I don't know if you ever used this https://tiresize.com/calculator/ but I find it useful. I can see that many are going with 285/45/22 set up on OEM wheels, but from that calculator I see that 285/40/22 all around is much much closer to the original staggered set up. I see quite a few options in All Seasons in that size (not much in winter) - but given the mild winters here in Mid Atlantic, I am thinking 285/40/22 will be a better set up.

Anyone with better understanding of tires and sizes want to chime in? And yes, I know that All seasons are not winter, but I am just making a judgment based on real weather and real world conditions. I am sure if I lived in Toronto, it would be very much different.

It’s about time to move this thread back to the top. Have my ‘20 X7 with the 22s. Got it last February and ordered winter setup when I placed the order at the dealership. Long and short, the delivery was delayed and due to Covid, we didn’t really have the need to drive anywhere. I cancelled the order and figured I would cross this bridge agin next year.... So, here we are again and waiting for my order (I waited until November to place it). Says the setup will be in at the end of the month, but we got snow today. Probably 4 or 5 inches. I needed to run out and figured I would give the X7 a shot... and I was shocked at how well it handled with the summer tires. I wasn’t pushing it, and was cautious, but really felt stable. Braking wasn’t an issue, accelerating wasn’t an issue. Do I really need the 20” setup that I ordered? I don’t go to the mountains, really just running errands and when it’s bad out, we stay in. Curious to know if anyone out there has done this (or is doing this). Thanks

Were your roads plowed? Just drove mine with PZeros in the Colorado mountains with snow and stopping is *definitely* a problem if it’s not well plowed. I’m now looking into options for winter tires as well.

I assume nobody has tried chains on the pzeros?

I was awaiting approval from the administrator on this site before I could post. I was in the process of building my X7 due for delivery 1/15/21. I built it with 21" wheels but then after reading your post, I tried to change to the 758i wheel to run it all year round with your mentioned winter set up. Unfortunately I was too late and they had already started production and I couldn't change the wheels 😩

Then my dealer tried to work with me on finding a different set of 22" wheels and give me a price break on tires. I only wanted the 768i oem wheels and it was too late and I wasn't going to pay $6500 from eBay.

He then told me that those summer 22" tires on the 758i last about 7000 miles. He said he has customers complaining about it all the time. He also told me that the run flat tires are designed to not necessarily have the bead broken too many times because of how the tire is made. He had me convinced at that point to stick with the 21" wheels so that I didn't go through tires every 7000 miles and spend $2500 on a set of staggered run flats because I don't have spare set up.

All in all, I still like your set up better and wish I could have chatted with you before I submitted my build to get a better understanding of the long term effects of your set up.
