I just picked up a BMW X7 in South Carolina on Friday. I am shocked that backup camera is so useless at night.

Did they NOT install an INFRARED backup camera???

I thought the same thing... at night when there are no ambient lights around, the camera is almost useless

Are your white reverse lights not good enough to illuminate anything immediately behind you?

Not like we drive for distances in reverse.

No. They aren't. It's definitely different, much worse, than the backup on my Lexus vehicles.
