Per the manual. Not sure if you tried.
Activating/deactivating Via iDrive: "CAR" "Settings" "General settings" "Gesture control" "Gesture control" Adjusting Via iDrive: "CAR" "Settings" "General settings" "Gesture control" Select the desired setting: "User help display": the possible gesture is shown on the Control Display. "Audio confirmation": an acoustic signal is emitted once the gesture is recognized. |

I remember someone in this forum had the gesture control option credited back to him due to shortage of part. Check your build sheet to make sure it's on there.

Thank you greatly for letting me know. Surely enough, it has been cut from my build, and the dealer says they knew nothing about it. Is this something they can add or that's it?

You cannot reasonably add it. BUT make sure they adjust your bill for it. Just because the credit shows on your sticker does not mean your dealer adjusted your bill. In my case, I agreed on a price (cinfigured with gesture). They completed the paperwork with the agreed price. I told them it was fine, but I owed $190 less for the gesture control credit. The fincance guy didn't have a clue and tried telling me that my agreed price was discounted because the gesture control Good one, I negotiated that price BEFORE the order was even placed. He eventually got it right - make sure you didn't actually pay for it anyway. |

I've finally figured out how to get the mute gesture to work fairly consistently, and use it quite often when it's more than just me in the car. I hate the volume control gesture. It just seems "gimmicky", and for some reason, I often end up activating it unintentionally. When I try to do it on purpose, I find it doesn't get me to the volume I want and I just end up manually setting the level anyway. I wish there was a way to selectively enable or disable individual gestures. |
