Congrats on the build. I don't get this logic though. The X7 is my daily driver and does kid duty daily and I have an M50i and love it. :

Perhaps he is referring to the MPG?

IMO there is a noticeable difference in the MPG between the 40i and 50i. There is the added inconvenience of frequent refueling with the V8, especially if the driver prefers comfort mode and leisure driving. She just wants to know the power is there when she needs it, and the 40i is plenty fast.

Amazing build! Those two-tone seats are going to be so cool. I got the Phytonic Blue also - love that color - with cognac interior. I ordered mine on 4/9, build was done on 5/12, arrived at dealership on 5/19, pick-up probably Monday

Thank you we are excited.
The MPG was factor for us because we travel every other weekend out of state with kids.
The only option I couldn’t get over was the hitch and the way how the bumper look like.
Definitely no go!
There are options doit stealth or use the pickup truck

Question for you guys. I ordered X7 5/8. Went into production schedule and was told it would start week 22. Then earlier this week was told it would start week 23. Just happened to check website and now it's showed entered production que I also have a vin now; so does that mean it's actually started and bmw won't be changing dates on me?

Thanks.

Receiving an assigned VIN doesn’t mean that they have actually started assembling your vehicle. It means they are ordering and allocating the parts and components for your vehicle. Actual physical production usually begins 1-2 week later eg on your assigned production week. Once physical production starts it only takes a few hours to complete.

Call BMW genius and they will be able to tell you a confirmed production end date; typically two weeks from when the status flipped

Very nice ..if my stock wheels were on I'd do a double take if I past you on the street. Looks like mine minus the steps.
You even opted for no front plate in the Chicago area. Well done.
