2019-2020 Owners - How long did your brake pads last?

Considering a lot of owners now are going into their 5th year, when did you have to replace your pads and did BMW replace the rotors as well?

I'm just asking as I purchased the extended service maintenance package which includes pad/rotors. I'm just worried that this may expire without me availing of free brake change.

I have a 2020 with around 30k miles now.

I have 50K on my 2020 X7 and am no where near close to needing new pads or rotors. It all depends on how much braking you do and your style of driving. I would imagine if you do a lot of stop and go driving you might be able to take advantage of the extended maintenance but I doubt it.

Thanks for the input. That would suck for me as I paid over $5k I believe.

My rears went quick. About 18K miles. Fronts still have plenty of life left. 24K miles on my 3.5 year old 2020.

Rears will most likely go out first. Just did mine last night including rotor. Got all OE the parts from FCP. 40K miles. Fronts I will replace around 50K.

2019 x7 40i. 47,100 miles. As of 3k miles ago (all highway) back brakes were at 4mm and rusty. Front brakes just fine. Been quoted by numerous dealerships that front and back pad and rotor replacement is $3100.

Have some long road trips planned and need to decide asap if I’m buying an extended warranty or trading in this bad boy. I’ve had a fair amount of electrical / tech warranty fixes since I’ve had her.

Is that for standard brakes in the 40i or M sport brakes?

Mine just got checked a couple days ago, and it's nowhere near replacement ... like not even close. Mine is 25k miles, and it's a February 2020 build, so coming up on 3.5 years

When my 3-year original maintenance warranty went out, I inquired about the extended service maintenance package, too, but my BMW service advisor just told me that it would be smart to purchase it right when I needed new brakes pads/rotors - yes, they specifically cited brake service as they said that would be the only big ticket item that makes the extended package worth it for most people.

24.5k miles on a 2021 X7 40i (M sport brakes) and I don’t need either front or rears yet. Not even close.
