It's 200 pound lighter than the GT500, but nearly the exact same weight as the regular GT.

Congrats on a great car. Love the mustangs bang for the buck.

I'm saving for a c7 now but if I don't like it I'm going gt500 cobra.

I love the Boss 302 if only they made it with an IRS.

Ok you got me. I used Yahoo Autos which showed it was 3483 pounds and was going on what GT owners have posted their weights as being closer to 3600-3700:

http://autos.yahoo.com/ford/mustang/...fications.html

Ironically, the LS according to your link is 5 pounds heavier than the regular Boss.

IRS truly makes little difference in these cars. I had 3 03-04 cobras with the IRS rear, and the only difference was higher dollar parts to mod it and increased wheel hop. Whatever Ford did to this solid rear, it's genuinely excellent.

Haha, nothing to get on my end, I have a crappy daily driver, you have a bright blue BOSS.

It will be interesting to see the next Mustang, since rumors have been all over the place with 300-400 pounds less weight, and up to 17 inches shorter, and the IRS.

But you still have my favorite version of this generation, well done.

I meant a good IRS system. The prior cobra IRS systems were horrible. Having drove and owned numerous mustangs old and new the solid rear really makes the mustang more of a muscle car. The Boss 302 is better but the read end is to unsettled in bump corners. This is advantage the Camaro has on the mustang the 1LE can out handle the Boss easily.

Lol...fair enough, my DD is a 2000 Jetta unless I trade it today for a Ranger truck. You figure a car is designed as a track car, weight would be shaved but who knows?

Next gen is starting to sound like it won't resemble a mustang at all, sad to say.

Nice car! I had a 5.0 rental for 4 days and the car performance was great. Fun car to drive and the v8 torque and engine sound was a blast...great car!

The Boss 302 probably the best mustang to date in my opinion. Just put those springs on and some different wheels.

Nice car. I have always liked Mustangs as well, but I think they need a lot more refinement for my taste. If they ever shrink to a decent size (lose about a foot in length), gain a decent IRS and lose some weight, they could be on my shopping list again.

This is pretty much what most rumors hint at. We should know soon, since it's supposed to be out for the 50th anniversary. I'd just assume it must be scheduled for the Detroit auto show.

You won't have to wait long for all that. Proper IRS, weight loss, and a smaller overall package are due real soon.

Yeah, I am very interested to see what the next gen model specs will look like. Rumors definitely point in the right direction, and they pretty much have to if Ford wants to sell it globally (and succeed).

Jeez you guys are a tough crowd on the rims. I just hated the OEM black ones. Of course you never had to clean em either. Think polished rim (which I went to) being EASIER to maintain..that should say it all.

I am shopping around for spring install now. Not many reputable options in my area and I won't pay the dealer $65 an hr for his estimated 6 hrs labor. Should be a two hour job at best.

The 600hp naturally aspirated v8 is the big rumormill item I'm interested in.

Even if they put that motor into the existing car that would be amazing.

Really??

Interesting...I'd love to hear some insight as to why?

I know the M3 lacks torque but it's a monster of a car...very curious to hear your thoughts on all the cars...

Congrats on the car. I test drove a 5.0 a few months back...sounded insane but I couldn't really see myself in one. Yours looks great!

I agree on the IRS but disagree on the SS, I believe it's a tossup and comes down to driver ability. The upcoming Z28 will outhandle it but it's not yet out and it costs twice as much. Now Bumblebee is a badass no matter which way we look at it.

I had an E46 M3, not the V8 version. It was extremely nice too but head to head with the twin turbo no comparison. Smoother acceleration, quicker IMO, and the ride was much better. I also had verts so the soft top was no match for the hardtop vert. Surprisingly for a DD, the 325ci (an 02) was almost perfect. Great looks, great gas mileage, comfortable, not quick but it was enough for daily commuting.

I don't base my decisions strictly off performance, livability means alot to me too. I've had 625 rwhp Cobras, way too much for the street, so going fast is secondary to me now. As a daily driver, I couldn't have been happier with the 335i. I hope to own another one day.

Put a 600 hp motor in most any car and it will be amazing lol.

Awesome ride! I have a thing for the GT 5.0, but i never knew the boss 302 had backseats! For some reason, I only saw front seats (online pics/eBay) and nothing in the rear!

That was a Laguna Seca...no rear seat. That's the coolest sig I've seen in a long time

Ahh, thanks for clarifying. The mustang (GT 5.0) is one of those cars that I've been interested in a very long-secretive time but never really put much thought or research into it. Although missing rear seats, the LS 5.0/302 is truly an amazing machine. Now that the (non-LS) Boss 302 is offered with rear seats, I only hope to own one from the used market (in a few years).

Thanks for enjoying the sig! My garage contains a larger, more-detailed version...

Beautiful car! Congrats man! Love everything about it (especially the seats) except for one thing . . .

. . . you gotta lose those wheels! They look smallish and are too bright/shiny. They take my focus away from the rest of the car's look instead of accentuating it.
