Russ103, I'm not trying to sound rude, but let's look at it from a different perspective.

I honestly don't understand why some people don't lock their cars. I regularly see posts in the Neighbors app complaining about cars being broken into, but then it turns out those cars weren't locked. Locking a car (event in a garage) is a good habit that can help avoid unnecessary problems. But I guess not everyone thinks the same way.

With the car unlocked in my garage, I can’t take anything out, or throw something in it without it connecting to either my, or my wife’s (whichever is closer) phone, and staying connected unless I press/hold the volume know power button because I dared to open the door of the car without going anywhere.
What's the problem with that? Does the phone sound get transferred to the car? My Galaxy S24+ has an option to disallow audio connection via Bluetooth while allowing phone call connection. This way if I watch YouTube on my phone and my wife starts the car, the sound doesn't get transferred.

You don’t sound rude at all, no worries.

iPhones don’t (to my knowledge) have that option. But yes, it does immediately switch off the sound of whatever (music, Podcast, or phone call) is being played into the car. It’s incredibly frustrating. I know it sounds like a first world problem, but it bothers me more because I don’t understand why it was designed that way, or for who’s benefit.

Overall, I see no reason for the car waking up and establishing a Bluetooth connection unless I get in and turn it on to accessorie mode, or start the engine.
As mentioned in this thread, it’s an unnecessary drain on the battery that cannot be explained by common sense.
