Left rear axle. They're allowed to overnight parts that are a reasonable cost to the dealership. Therefore the axle was able to be put in withen a day considering it takes less than an hour to actually replace.

Nasty, let us know if they replace the entire final drive or just the Pinion gear.
Placey, what broke in the rear axle? What did it look like? Twist fracture???

Just spoke to the tech at the service center. He said they are ordering the rear end from Germany. If they receive the part this week, they might have the car ready for me next week. For the time being, they will replace the rear axle and take it from there.

it takes about 1 week to receive parts from Germany. i just looked it up and there are 0 in the USA. when they get the part, they should be able to get it in and going the same day it's recieved.
If they ordered it last week, it should be here sometime this week
