The sales did show me the screen.
Quota: 2019/10
Req. Prod: 2019/10/40 (I am not sure whether this their actual allocation. but she said so. Please let me know.)
But anyway, we signed the agreement, they will ship another car from another dealer and I will get it this week. I will get the different car with higher price and they will cover the cost and shipping. Plus I don't think night vision is useful, so I am happy with that. But never know before I actually get the car.

Boooo... should be no reason for that much of a delay.

Ordered Oct 23, Delay due to full leather?

I ordered M50i Oct 23, included Full Merino Black Leather option. Was told by dealer that this is the reason my order is delayed until January. No mention of allocation. Dealer says there is a notice on the internal software showing it is due to an "individual" option which I assume is leather. Said they wait and run a bunch at a time on the assembly line.

Is this correct?

Guess it is because of the night vision. Too special.

Yeah, we've heard that from other members here as well, that their production has been delayed, with a given reason of "Individual options" that were selected. Don't know why, but we speculated it was yet another BMW supply issue.

Anyone know for sure what constitutes an "individual option"? Looking at the ordering guide, the only explicit mention of "individual" are a few of the interior trim choices.

Surely it's more than just that holding up these orders, right? I think I'd probably pick a different trim if it was going to delay the build by months.

Supposedly, the current "Individual" options available are some exterior colors (i.e. Ametrin), seat leather (i.e. Full Merino), and interior trim (i.e. Piano Black).

HOW any of those features are causing production delays, isn't clear. twesslen above reported his dealer says it's because BMW waits and produces several at a time in a bunch on the production line.

Ours has night vision. But mine was still a matter of allocation. We got the night vision because deer are a problem where we live and drive.

We wanted the night vision also because of the deer. I need to take late flight often, that's why my wife wanted night vision. But I really hate to wait. So I go with the car in another dealer now.

That's a bummer. I should be ordering in the first week of December, and I was planning to go with full merino — but in ivory white. I wonder if the delay impacts ALL colors in full merino. Guess I'll find out soon.

You might luck out if the production run of full merino is scheduled for Jan. Really don't know if this is how it works or not but dealer seemed to think it was.

Finally! Love the color combo. Arctic Grey with shadowline? I know that was probably so frustrating to wait, but what do you think now that you have it?

When I picked mine up from the dealer, they had one of those car covers draped over it. I asked if they do that for everyone coming to pick up their car. He said, "Well no. But we had so many people asking to look at it and get in it, and we kept telling them they couldn't because this was a customer's car, so finally we just covered it up!"

Yep Arctic Grey with shadowline. Full Coffee interior. Love it now that we have it. Now to get all the settings how we want. They had all the active drive settings on super sensitive and I like a little less help driving. We only drove a 50i before we got it. The M50i surprised me at the smoothness of the power delivery.

Another data point:

11/8 - order received
11/9 - production begins
11/19 - exterior body assembly begins
11/21 - quality check

Status changed to "Production Begins" with VIN yesterday. I wonder how long it takes to "Awaiting career assignment" status!

10 days between "production started" and "Body work"? And I'm checking status 3 or more times a day after "production started" phase
So it's taking around 10 days for the car to reach dealer.

I think the transport time depends on a number of factors. My dealer told me, however (I'm in the Northeast like you), that once a vehicle is dispatched from the factory, it only takes two days to get to the dealer. I'm guessing mine was slower because of Thanksgiving (?).

Called Genius and automated system said the vehicle will complete on 8th. Not sure what that means, like ready to transport, waiting for career? This wait is like a love/hate relationship, one overpowering other quite often! I hope it's here before last week of Dec.
