As an aussie i want to like the SS but man, it's 10 years old guys. It's BIG car too, really big, it handles well for it's size but it's a genuine 5 seater.

if you want something newer you could look at a f30 xi car. But I dumped mine as a daily after 9 months because it was super boring.

My buddy had a B8 S4. dumped it because he was scared of the timing chain issues. not sure how big a deal that is.

Golf R is always a good choice.
Isn't a used R still about $40k? If the prices have dropped another $10kish, it will definitely be on my list.

Completely forgot about the SS. Boring as hell to look at it, but satisfies my other boxes & I can do appearance mods so on the list it goes! An orange one would be perfect.

If OP wants a 2 door 4 seater, the Q60 is a great choice. I personally much prefer the look of the Q50, and it has 4 doors. Can be had in either AWD or RWD, so non-hoon or hoon mobile depending.

For ONLY $800 and the cost of a tune, that's a massive gain in power. As previously stated, the Q50 definitely gets my vote as it SEEMS to fit OP's criteria.
I do like their looks & that is pretty damn good for the mods. Then comes bye bye warranty, though. That's why I have not done tune & pulley on my Hellcat...

Even in stock trim, the RedSports make like 350/375. Of course that's no where near what your Hellcat currently makes, but it's nothing to slouch at.

And Infinitis are pretty bulletproof. I've had 3 since 2006, put over 100,000 miles combined and the only thing I had to replace was a radiator on a g35. Everything else was basic maintenance. However the new QX0 infotainment is pretty bad and slow, but again compared to a Dodge Challenger it's probably slightly better.

I see a 2018 Golf R for 34k on ebay. I'm sure you could haggle them down a bit. Plenty of 2017 models for low 30s.

Given the size of a Hellcat, I think a Kia Stinger would be about the right size. Should give you some of the same type of experience but with a difference.

Veloster N loaded costs $30k. After it somehow won R&T COY, I checked out some YouTube vids, all of which had very positive feedback. In a nutshell, it's a slower but more fun Type R (and way more fun than a Golf R) which was developed by the ex head of ///M.

F06 (2013-2019). Warranty, shmarranty. Get an aftermarket warranty or just take you chances (I've done both and been lucky). These are great cars and worth a little risk IMO.

I'm a huge SRT fan and know the top guys at SRT personally. Love some of their products. But the 650 is a really buttoned up car compared to the Hellcat and almost as fast. Plus, if you get it in X-drive, you don't have to worry about winter (although I've always driven with RWD and winter tires without issues). If you're just looking at performance, get a M6 GC.

I don't buy (only lease for a steal with 0 down) new cars. Also, after regretting buying a new Genesis Coupe in 2010 & the recent checking out of new Hyundai SUVs, I will not consider that brand at any price short of free.

2016-2017 Audi A6 Premium Plus with the supercharged 3.0 run for about $25-30k depending on mileage. Great mix of comfort, class and sport.

Same engine as the B8.5 S4, which has been touted as one of Audi's most reliable powerplants. That engine also responds really well to basic tune & intake upgrades.

So, if you're coming from a hellcat, you are coming from the charger platform, and even in the most basic bare bones version this is a solid, quiet, smooth platform. Doors are solid, heavy, etc. Materials are thick, plastic has give and isn't thin, etc.

You most likely will not be happy in a subaru or honda or even a toyota. Even in their most loaded models. They are not the same feel (intentionally). Doors are light, plastics are thin. Some people prefer that, as it makes the cars seem more toss able, or more modern, but its subjective. This is like the difference in audi (cheap feeling knobs) and lexus (thicker dampened knobs). Materials matter.

The question is, do you want to stay in that type of machine, or go for something else? Do you want 4 doors or even need a back seat?
For example, you could get a non-quadrofolio alfa guilia or new genesis G70. you could do a used lexus GS. If those are all too big, the M235 is a nice car, but for a daily errand runner its not more impressive than the 228 its based on. There's always a used boxster or cayman if you can physically get in one.

Or do you want to think outside the box entirely, and get a used model 3?
Personally? I would set a budget (low) and stick to it, that way you don't get buyers remorse over something that was outside of your budget anyway.

Brands like Honda & Toyota are not even on my radar. They make nothing fun for me. Lexus? RC-F or bust
Budget was in my OP. $30k or less.
Porsche for a winter daily? Hard pass. Also not paying the cost to maintain a car like that.
Again, no electric cars.
It does not have to have 4 doors, but I'd like something where I can still haul loose wheels, tires, etc. I have my Miata for 2 seat fun

Not going to add the hassle & cost of aftermarket warranty to any car. Then worry about whether or not it was 1 of the few good ones if something happens...

Later model C6 GrandSport. Plenty of cargo space, easy to mod and work on, and I have thrashed all of my Vette's any chance I had with no reliability issues.

Only downside is the snow you mentioned.

But then again...I am biased.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised with an IS350 F Sport, worth test driving IMO. My buddy has a 2016 IS300 which lacks some balls, but it's a good looking car and the interior is gorgeous. Also, it's an easy car to maintain mechanically.

I like this idea, turbo awd kick/acceleration down low is a lot of seat in the pants fun, plus easier to add power than most.

Some of the suggestions here are bat-****-crazy IMO. C6!?
