iPad holders and pillows

Hi all, taking delivery next week. Can anyone tell me if the 2nd row pillows are a dealer purchase or whether they come standard with the car. Also if anyone has used the clip-in iPad holder I’d be interested in feedback on how stable / well designed it is.

Thanks!

I have the clip in iPad holders and I love them. Solid build. You have to purchase the clip in holder in addition to a non slip holder that the iPads fit in to. Shopped for both online and dealer matched prices!

Do the iPads vibrate at all when you're on the highway?

I have not noticed any rattle at all thus far. It is a really cool setup.

I don't suppose you have any idea if the larger 12.9" iPad Pro would fit in that holder? (As it would be mounted in landscape orientation, it would be almost 1.5" taller than the normal sized iPad.)

It actually rotates. I keep it like that because when they're installed, it is the closest to the usb-c port. I have the shortest cable that I could find. My kids have bluetooth kid headphones. I am not sure if the one that I have will fit a pro BUT I can tell you that they make different adapters for different devices. Maybe they make one for a pro.

I am not sure. BMW has several that they offer for different sizes. My kids have the minis. These holders will expand with the push of a button as well so I am sure they will fit a regular ipad.

I should mention that there are rubberized sleeves that you can buy from BMW specifically for your device so I am sure that helps eliminate any potential rattle as well.

I usually dismiss the RES as costly and subpar but am giving it another thought for my X7 order. My rationale is that I would pay a fraction of the cost if I lease for three years and I generally don't value the residual value of an ipad after three years highly. In other words, I would pay about 42% of the $2.2K of the RES cost plus interest over three years which is less than two ipads plus holders. I give up the functinality of taking the ipads with me when we leave the car but that is also not very important to us. With ability to play from different sources at the same time and use firestick, etc. it sounds like a cool option to add.
