Had trucks the last 14 years, New Models: 2001 and 2005 Xterra's and most recently a FJ Cruiser and used: Big ole Ford Bronco and a 1993 Jeep Laredo and a 1990 & a 1996 Montero. Both the 2001 Xterra and the 1990 Montero took me from Texas to Newfoundland and back and the FJ Cruiser I drove from Texas to Monterey, Mexico. Just traded in the FJ for the 2013 BMW X1 sDrive28.

The 2001 Xterra https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-m...2520Xterra.jpg

The 2005 Xterra https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-M...hipchannel.jpg

The FJ Cruiser https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-T...520Cruiser.jpg

And now the BMW X1 https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-r...9C23B94AE8.JPG

I had a 2010 gmc sierra that I traded to my father to get my 335i. It was great to have that utility, but to me at least, you have to have a second car to go out at night and regular grocery runs. I think the small crossovers are going to be the normal "car" on the road in a couple years seeing as they are getting the same gas mileage as a regular car now. To me I can't really argue why I would get a car over a crossover for daily driving if they have the same mileage.

(don't be fooled by the camera's perspective; the Raptor is about twice as big as the X1)
