classic line, but makes no sense because parsec is a unit of distance not speed.

Star Wars Wiki for everything

Quote:
The Kessel Run was one of the most heavily used smuggling routes in the Galactic Empire.[3] Han Solo claimed that his Millennium Falcon "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs". A parsec is a unit of distance, not time. Solo was not referring directly to his ship's speed when he made this claim. Instead, he was referring to the shorter route he was able to travel by skirting the nearby Maw black hole cluster, thus making the run in under the standard distance. By moving closer to the black holes, Solo managed to cut the distance down to about 11.5 parsecs.[source?] The smuggler BoShek actually beat Solo's record in his ship, Infinity, but without cargo to weigh him down. A few months later, Han Solo beat both his own and BoShek's records in a run he made with Luke Skywalker.[2]

1 parsec = 3.258 light years (19.2 trillion miles). You would think the above quote would use a unit of time...

Um last I check the M3 never out performed the M3 sorry pal. Big brother, and lil sister. It's not a productive conversation to say th least. The M5 has 560 HP, and let's discuss when the weight on the M3 comes out. Not crazy by the way had an M3, and it was heavy by the way. 991 is the ticket if you want performance.

It will be interesting to see what the weight of the M4 will be. At the rumored 3,300 lbs, it sounds quite appealing when compared to the M5 4,400 lbs.

I'm seriously considering the M4 as a replacement for my Audi S5. I've been planning to unload the M5 anyway - just too big.

Yep he's doing some soul searching in the swamp with Yoda fighting the dark side. He will soon learn vader is his father, and his skills need some work. Take care of young Luke as his emotions will get the best of him.

The current M3 is over 3700 pounds not sure it can make 3300 pounds due to the M4 is larger than the 3.

Yes - that would be some serious weight loss, but supposedly BMW has been doing a lot of work on that, and some supposedly reliable German magazine quoted the weight at 3,295 lbs. I'll believe it when I see it, but if it's true then that would be very appealing.

Porsche wasnt even in the conversation i was strictly comparing m3 to m5 based on comments.

So more hp equals more performance?

Straight line performance is ONE aspect.

Drive an m5 around a track and then drive the now 6 year old current m3 around the track and tell me which performs better in all ways. The way the f10 outperforms the e60, the e8x will to the e9x. New model vs new model the gap would be even more.

I love m5s! They are my dream super sedan (until the damn m6gc came out) - but to think it outperforms a smaller more nimble car in all around performance is just laughable.

It also comes down to the driver. You dont get all the performance a car brings to the table. You get as much as you can extract from it personally.
