Is Highway Assist Plus Perfect?
100 mile + drive on Florida Interstate 95 today 100% PERFECT! Zero need to touch the wheel in moderate traffic. I don't drive Interstates often so this was my 1st chance to test after the last revision. As previously posted, the auto lane change feature is somewhat abrupt, but quick execution may be a plus before conditions change. I am impressed!

Wow. That’s great. I have a 2022 X7 M50 which doesn’t have that feature. But I have a 25 XB7 on order and look forward to using it.

Awesome!.
And, yes… the auto-lane change was set to behave that way (quick) as it was deemed safer and better than a hesitant lane change. It used to be much more aggressive and it’s better now. I still feel they can make it better… Mbenz has a very smooth lane change and it’s still quick enough. |

The next software iteration will allow you to change lanes by just looking at the side mirror, so having a good clearance between the camera and the eyes is becoming even more important. |

I was getting several phantom braking situations (it would lock up the brakes for no reason) with my XB7 and BMWNA said it was because I drive with my hand at 12 o’clock…..

Off topic: I recently took a law enforcement driver training course and one key thing that really hit home was that if the airbags go off with my hand(s) at the 12:00 position it can drive my hand(s) into my face with the potential result of blindness. I don't drive that way anymore except when I forget 10 & 12 is the way to go.
