X5 50i Msport Performance Center Delivery (PCD) - Pics
Sorry for the delay in posting, but I wanted to share some pics of our new F15 50i Msport and our first PCD experience. Here is a quick summary:
Ordered: 8/27 VPC: 9/23 PCD: 11/21 xDrive 50i - M Sport Line Carbon Black Metallic Mocha Nappa Leather Fineline Pure Wood Trim Options: Msport 20" wheels M Sport Adaptive Suspesion Cold Weather Package Executive Package B&O Audio Driver Assistance Package Lighting Package Mocha Nappa Design Package Ventilated Seats Comfort Seats 4-zone climate control As quite a few have posted, the PCD experience was absolutely amazing and will be the standard going forward for our next BMW (my 335is lease is up in late June ). The instructors Paul and Donnie were great on the track and entertaining while sharing stories over lunch. Our Product Specialist, Nick, was nothing short of awesome and really took the time to ensure my fiancé knew how to use all of the BMW features since this would be her first BMW Daily Driver. I could go on and on with details about a truly amazing day, but the best thing to do is experience it for yourself - it was simply terrific. Note - we took the PCD's recommended route to Asheville, NC following the delivery process. While it was an incredible drive, it got a little scary since the sun went down and there was limited visibility with fog as we went through the mountains - a little nerve racking for our first driving experience. We definitely recommend spending the night at the Grand Bohemian in Asheville (even though they don't honor the PCD discount anymore). Was an amazing hotel and great steakhouse - Red Stag. We left the hotel early Friday morning and took the Blue Ridge Pkwy north for about 3 hours for some absolutely breathtaking driving. I wish we took it all the way back to the DC area but we eventually got on 81 to NVA. OK, onto the pics of the new baby! I'll also include some taken with our nice Canon - will upload once I can get the image sizes reduced. Last edited by ckortane; 12-01-2013 at 08:57 PM.. |

Nice Ride! We also did two nights at the Grand Bohemian in Asheville - very nice hotel. There was no availability on their site; however, I did find availability on Groupon Getaways and saved some money too.

You went mineral grey right? I think it will look awesome and we need some color diversity! I love the presence of the 20s - don't worry you can ask Santa for some of the 21" Performance Wheels for Christmas

Any more pics with your Canon of the interior?
How is the upgraded Adaptive M Suspension? This is the $900 upgrade with the MSport Pack? Strangely the online configurator does not allow us to check the upgraded suspension, but the Pricing Guide has it listed (we all are aware of the problems with the online build). Curious what your reason was for not upgrading to the entire Dynamic Handling Package? Certainly not apples to apples, but how do you like it compared to your 335is (E92 or E93?)?

Since this is my fiancé's daily driver and not mine, we opted for the m adaptive suspension. We were already adding more options than originally planned and the Configurator issues had something to do with it too back in August (I had to leverage the us price sheet as dealer didn't tell us about adaptive m or that if we went with mocha Dakota we lose the MC seats!). In the end, the options we added after our initial deposit were: Nappa mocha design package. (My fiancé has had neck surgery and making sure she has the best seat is a must). The 50i has standard MC seats, but if you chose mocha Dakota, downgraded back to sport seats! Glad we caught that. Ventilated seats - she had in her Lexus B&O - as the price went up, and I had HK in my 335is, just seemed like it was an unnecessary necessity . It sounds awesome and since this we be used as our weekend car/ her daily driver why not. M adaptive was added so we had some adjustment in suspension settings. After researching more, prob should have opted for dynamic handling but then you lose the msport suspension settings. Was confusing and expensive option and never drove an x5 optioned with it so figured the adaptive m suspension would be enough. Again if this was my daily driver than i prob would have added it but was just too much $ for something that wouldn't get as much attention. Compared to my 335is....well completely different types of vehicles, but since we've been putting some miles on the x5 to break it in, I've neglected the. 335is a bit. I drove the 335is a bit yesterday and the cabin feels dated now and not nearly as luxurious. It's crazy. I love my 335is but I'm not sure who's going to win a drag race . We'll keep you posted when we try it.

Also, if you could please take some good pics of your LED headlights on from a distance away, that would be great. I actually prefer the blue hue from the standard xenons and I'm not sure I'll like the bright white LED look. Aesthetically, the LED are night and day from the standard xenon, and you get the LED turn signal. If the rear brake/turn signal lights were also LED, then the $1900 option would be a must IMHO. Thanks for taking more pics!
