I have come to terms with the fact that I am going to have to extend my lease at least a month. Also: Does anyone else not like any of the rim choices they have seen on the various spy shot cars? It's actually bothering me quite a bit.
Interesting--my production number doesn't show up in the owner's circle yet, but I have confirmation from my SA that it is due to begin production on December 7, with an expected delivery date of ~January 20.

It is also locked, but with sapphire black metallic, premium, and heated seats i think.

My SA said it was possible that the first production slots would be identical cars that BMW sends to the dealers for test drives, etc. In that case, I would get the next slot, which is a week later in December.

As a result, I have to extend my lease for a minimum of one month, probably two. I tried to call into BMWFS and do that already, but you must be within 60 days of lease maturation for the system to "take" the extension.

Don't worry either--if you make a payment on your current car and your M235i arrives in the middle of the payment period, you will be refunded in a prorated basis. That was nice news--honestly, besides the excitement factor, it doesn't matter when it gets here based on that.

I too am a little worried about the wheels. I am not a fan of gun-metal, and the rims on the red spy shots look to be of that ilk. I am considering alpine white, so if they show up and I don't like them, might have to get them painted a glossy black or something.

These are the types of things I usually have a few months to worry about (yes, I am a little OCD), but the early purchasers are REALLY flying blind into this. When I got my first E92, at least there were official pics out and whatnot. No one really knows what this baby is going to look like, much less feel like (as we have no M135 in the US).

As a result, I am putting my faith in the belief that BMW can't f*** this up...we will see...

Id just like to add a quote from a UK salesman (not mine) that states mines was indeed correct.. you can now remove that size 10 from your mouth

"BMW have announced a save the date to us dealers of a new model unveiling on Sunday 13th October at 9.00am. Strange time to do it. I am guessing its the official launch of the 2 series and they have told us that they will be haloing it with the M235i.
Having seen official pics of the front side on I can tell you it looks more like the red car here. It does not have the headlights from the 1. Car is much sleeker with a longer rear deck unlike the stubbiness of the old car. Factory production is 01/14 with official launch in mid feb and customer cars from march."

If it's true by looks of that statement, I would think we might see some pics by the end of the week hopefully.

Size 12E to be precise.
I'll be more than happy to be proven wrong, but my assertion regarding salesmen stands. The exception (yours) proves the rule..
