I have a 22 pre-lci, had anti dazzle coded with VO change. Dealer updated software at the 10k mile service which reset most of my other coding changes but anti-dazzle still works.

vo coding will stay, and in the case of ID8, get activated. FDL parameters are generated from the VO. normally coding is just changing those default parameters. when the car is updated, the programming system reads the VO and calculates the parameters from that.

your coder removed 5AP (decoding antidazzle) from your VO. normally you would hit recalculate and code the modules, which would set all the parameters. but with ID8 and the signing needed he couldnt code the modules. he left 5AP missing from your VO when the dealership updated your car, the system read your vo (now missing 5ap) and set all the programming for the modules to reflect a car that has not had antidazzle disabled. I'm very tempted to get someone to remove 5ap from my VO before i get the car updated. mind PM'ing me who did your coding? i've reached out to my coder but always good to have someone who has connected and changed the VO on the 2023s. the downside is, im not sure if the mothership can tell if a VO has been modified and what the consequences will be.

Looking forward to hearing if those dark spots go away, I'm tired of my lights looking like a city skyline

I would be surprised if it goes away. It’s a hardware problem. Turn your brights on and you will see like this black line across the middle and then above that line is like a bunch of bar graphs.

I have a '22 M4 with Laser lights and adaptive function, which I believe is the same or very similar hardware, and you can see the "skyline pattern" but it gets less noticeable since the the adaptive function does a good job at hiding it. What it's horrible are the dark lines to the sides when you're on brights, that is definitely a bad miss on BMW's part. I would be way more happy to have the adaptive Xenon's our old F15 X5 had than this "new technology". Prove that new is not always better.

I didn’t need to tell them anything since BMW released the 07/2022 update right around the time I took it to the dealership and their was a recall out and they did it without me knowing.

In spring 2023, the BMW Digital Key plus already available for many current BMW models will gain new and extended functions. These include automatic vehicle unlocking when approaching the car for owners with Samsung smartphones and other smartphones running the Android operating system and the UWB (Ultra-Wideband) chip. Added to which, BMW Digital Keys shared with third parties can be activated more easily inside the car.unless its just an update to the phone app, this will probably be an OTA. my coder believes he can write a modified VO, so i might have him remove the decoding for NGHB and VLD (if thats on there, not sure if VLD decoding is a discrete decoding on the 2023 LCI, theres definately another one on that thats a very generic decoding- 8TT)

While I am in no way an expert on coding, it seems (based off my car) that so long as 5AP is removed from the VO, then Anti-dazzle should come online after an update. VLD isn’t part of the VO (that I’m aware of) so I can’t speak to that. |

Hi there. New to the forum but I’ve been tracking this thread for a while. I picked up my ‘23 X7 in March, 23 and like many members here was somewhat surprised / disappointed by the headlights (especially the “skyline feature”). I came from an ‘20 M340 with the laser lights, which were incredible. I’m still hoping that someone will eventually figure out how to enable the anti dazzle technology on the LCI X7s. Does anyone have any updates here? Thank you in advance!

when i say very bluntly, the activation threshold is pretty high, it needs to be basically pitch dark with no streetlights. in the past, coders were able to increase the amount of activation by doing fdl coding, but thats not possible anymore. you'll get the high beam tunneling, matrix leds lighting up the shoulder, etc, but it will activate with a much higher threshold than the prelci that was coded

Headlight problem
Hi guys, our 2023 X7 has a shadow line in the lights too, but we dont know is normal or wrong the lights. I made a video about it. What do you think, is it normal? Or we should go to the service? It is annoying, and distracting.
in the video it is not as spectacular as when you are in the car |
