I remain cautious about coding, especially using a wireless interface. There's a guru on one of the MB forums that offers a coding solution for Benz's, and he is adamant about using only cabled OBDII connections. While there are error detection schemes in the comms protocol, and the likelihood of bricking a car remains low, I tend to be exceptionally risk averse.
for speed and stability i would use an ethernet adapter and ethernet to obd2 cable on either ios or android. bimmercode /bimmerlink on past vehicles is painfully slow over bluetooth

Thanks for the update…looks like Bimmerlink needs to update their website.

The Bimmercode site does distinguish pre-LCI.

update; I spoke to the dealer and their changing the sensor that they already changed, but are also changing the entire dash display.

When I got there to drop it off, it showed as if I had passengers in every seat, and the mileage was 9999 in red.

This was my third visit for the same, parts aren't going to be in until tomorrow, so wont be getting it back until later next week.
The car doesn't have more than 400 miles on it and its the 3rd time its there for the same reason. Maybe its a dud. I'd just hate to wait 3 months to get another one
