Oddly enough he took the X7M50i up to 162mph on a similar run. Same top speed limiter code but it’s not as restrictive or as hard on the M50i.
Regardless, these beast have long legs and can run effortlessly.

Too large. Like driving a truck almost.
And with that, gas guzzling…

It’s not even that big by US standards! Definitely drives infinitely better than the actual truck-platformed US full size SUVs. I’ve been getting around 20mpg most of the time which is not great and does take a lot of effort/restraint using the coasting feature in Eco mode. Am I an x7 apologist… not really!! Who am I to say if I look like an asshole driving it 😂. I think it’s a great option to move the fam around in.

I was explaining to him and answering his question.
You’re welcome to your opinion, though.

BMW X7 is a very successful model in the US.

BMW sold 30,705 X7 in 2022. In 2021, BMW sold 23,046 X7.

The results: BMW sold 7,659 more units in 2022 compared to 2021 with a percent gain of 33.23% YoY.

I would venture to say BMW got X7 just about right.

Oh man… just noticed you’ve been on the forum since May but have already racked up thousands of posts… don’t even know where to begin with that. I just feel super grateful that you’ve enlightened us all and I’m indebted to you for granting me permission to share a more informed opinion. You’re the best! 🤣.

Probably because of its "status",...Look everybody, I'm at the top of my game!,...look'n down on the peasants! That would be my guess.

Well, because it’s everything Europeans detest: huge (twice the size of an average car on the streets), imposing, obnoxious, conspicuously expensive, in-your-face nouveau riche, etc
Sends too many signals about the owner/user totally not caring about such petty things as money or environment

On the other hand, it evokes a lot of envy, which also may impact the general public’s perception of such big cars

It’s got nothing to do with the actual qualities of the car. Each of us is entitled to an opinion. And I find it quite interesting to see that the perspective in the Netherlands (one of the richest nations in Europe) is such as expressed in this clip by AutoTopNL

Old money, old Europe, lots of class, preference for modesty, not to mention narrow streets… all that plays a role in formulating views on what X7 is and who drives it

True on all counts. The Cullinan is a much more socially acceptable vehicle in Europe.

And yet my Power Wagon makes my X7M50i look like a midsize. This is where possibly being too Eurocentric on forming a social viewpoint and caring so much about such stigmas greatly limits the possibilities of a higher standard of living many live in other countries.

I guess I am proud to be a (rich, ostentatious) American and the lifestyle rewards from education, discipline, and hard work...

You can’t vote yourself out of a geographical location I don’t think. So they haven’t tried to.
The UK is still in Europe.

Figure of speach. They voted themselves out of European Union

Anyway, I’m far from making any generalizations. It just struck me that the AutoTopNL presenter would have said what he did. Yet, such a comment, coming from a Dutch guy, is somehow symptomatic - Europeans have a tendency to drive smaller cars
