I'm able to get 8% discount before tax in the SF bay area. If anyone wants the dealership info and want to order together to get an even better discount, let me know. PM me. BTW, this is for a cash custom order. I wasn't looking to lease or finance.

I was able to get 10% off on custom order for a 90K MSRP. My monthly payment is $1150 with about $10k down payment (of which $8K is MSD refundable). I am still debating if I should buy or lease. I got a MF of 0.0018 even though I pay maximal MSD. So that's about 4.3% APR. For 3 years, that's about 13%.
Reason for lease: - this is the first year of the car, reliability is questionable. I purchased a Tesla Model X. And I regret so much for its poor assemble quality and software glitches. - I have >50% confidence that stock investment return can beat 13% in 3 years. - high tax (9% in northern cal) - I heard for high MSRP cars like these, when I return the car, I can get lower than residue value if I return then buy it back. My residue % is 60% after 3yr 10K/yr lease term. comments? |

1) your 1st reason (reliabilty) might be a stronger reason to buy instead of lease. With lease, your stuck with it. I'm guessing that if you had leased that Tesla X you would still be driving it?? 2) I've not leased before, but have been told the numbers are not favorable now. I ran 3 year projections with expected resale values at 36 months if I bought vs total lease costs. If I recall, I used resale values that were about 3-4% less than the RV on the lease. It was a about $2000 less total cost at 36 months to lease. I also had a trade in to save $2000 on purchase sales tax. Had I not had that, it would have been $4000 less to lease. 3) for $2000 more, I decided it was worth that to be able to sell the car early if we didn't like it or if it had reliability issues. Additinally, if we liked it and no major issues, we could keep it past 36 month (which is another reason to buy). If you know you will flip the car at 36 months, you should probably just lease. For us, we expected to either be much less than that or 12-24 months longer. = buy. I hope this helps. |

I recently shopped around in the Delaware area for a new X7 build. Was able to negotiate 5% off MSRP for a new build purchase, no financing through BMWFS and no loyalty. I'm now seeing up to 10% discounts on this site. Is this the max discount folks are seeing? Which dealerships / state? Appreciate the insights.

Bmwfs is swimming in lease returns. They have a problem brewing.
