Here are step to installed radar detector:
Required:
1. Mirror Wire Plug Tap ( 15 inches or more)
2. radar detector mount
3. Mini Flat head and Torx screwdrivers.

Thanks Thefamilyman1016 I'm just getting ready to install my Uniden this way. Can you take a picture showing where the mirror tap wire is coming out after being fully installed? If I'm interpreting your pictures correctly, the entire panel with the lights, garage door opener and SOS releases?

You need to fix step 2 “use star Phillips screwdriver”

They are torx fasteners, which use a torx driver. Guessing by the photo probability a T20 or T25.

... oh never mind I think I see the cord coming out in the first photo.
