As far as the drag race goes... They also used the faster v8 engine in the BMW. If they had the performance Tesla, which Is the one similar in price to the m50i, it would have been no competition.
I would assume the Mercedes would have done better with the v8 and not the v6. Also, I think Tesla x gets reviewed with these because the price is very similar. It looks smaller but it does have three rows. |

then include the xc90 and Q7, atlas and the x5 and whatever else in-between. just because it has similar features doesn't make it compete in the same segment.

I think it's an interesting comparison but unfair to Mercedes. They should have either 580s or GLS63 amg instead.
Btw, I do compare my Model X to my wife's m50i whenever I got a chance. |

The GLS is a let down in terms of quality. I really can't look past the hard plastic on the lower door trim. You can tell the X7 is just better built and the designers definitely paid more attention to detail. Even the 3rd row in the X7 has leather and ambient lighting. I LOVE Mercedes but in my opinion the GLS is just overpriced.

I am quite surprised how bad assembly Tesla has, clearly carbody needs way more effort. Perhaps I am old fashioned but I like when cars have some buttons and knobs rather than screen only. |
