Convenience lighting

So, somewhat confused.

I have set for lighting to remain on after we exit the vehicle to 120 seconds. I like being able to see around the driveway and garage when I go inside.

I also have it set to automatically lock when I walk away.

However, when it locks, it shuts all lights off.

What am I missing?

I think it is a one or the other. Lighting stays on for 120s or until the doors are locked.

Stop the engine, open the door and push high beam stick forward. Lock the car manually or let the automatic function do its thing. This should do the trick.
