I have neighbors, group of four pakistani's who have started their own tech company... Great people, will give you the shirt off their backs... I've even convinced one of them to try bacon - I have deep regrets because now it's a bacon fest for him... Feel somewhat guilty... Anyways, I have another group of friends who are equally down to earth, laid back and they have a lot in common... However, they refuse to commingle because, like you said, they are the "Patels"
So I can only imagine what those weddings are like... Unfortunate...

One of the guys went on Muslim-date.com and found himself a girl though... Within 6 months they got married... Did real well for himself too, she's in her residency program... So I guess it works !

Brown dating sites are usually meant more for the parents than the kids, at least in India. They use it to setup arranged marriages. Used to be done mainly by newspapers and personal meetings.
