Hey everyone,
Thought I'd give an input. Anyway, if the new 1-series is anything like the E92's angel eye design, you can get a standard H8 bulb 35watts. I'm currently running the GP Thunders 8500K for my E92, and it is 35Watts H8. There have constantly been LED solution trials, but many failed. There are some LED solutions starting to grow, but they are a bit pricey. From the looks of it, the new 1-series has a similar design in the angel eyes to the E92.. So don't go buying PIAAs for more than $100 when it's made for the E90, not the E92--their Angel Eye ring designs are different. Just thought I give a little input |

Thanks for the backup james..I didn't want people to think the $200 led's were the only solutions out there. GP thunders have a good track record on E90post

My garage is a mess so I cropped my pictures.
The color of stock xenon is more white than blue.

Here's an LED solution from PIAA on e90post for e92.
Pricey though, 300+ for angel eyes. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127432

If you change your bulb to a more bluish color (say 8000-10000K), are you only changing the color of the angel eye daytime running lights? Or does this mod also change your nighttime low/high beams as well?

I believe the low beam and angle eyes are two separate systems.

Your low/high beam are Xenon, and your Angel eyes are H8 Halogen. They are absolutely separate.

I bought from the same seller, but got whiter bulbs (7500's - orig thought they were 6500), rather than the bluer 8500's. I hope they'll be here soon. I bought them a week ago.. |

Just re-read the entire thread, I feel like such a noob. Is there anywhere that will allow me to compare the color temps to find which one I like? I'm looking for more of a white so it sounds like 7500k is right for me.
Is it possible/has anyone switched the Xenon's? I'm really looking for the most white headlight set up possible including removing any markers/casings to make them white as well. Thanks guys, great stuff at this site. |
