500usd is a little to steep for me for the grill. I'll see if I can get it painted instead.

I find it strange they don’t sell roof cross bars as an option. Sounds like a solid “mod” considering the limited space behind the third row

For anyone interested, Weather Tech is now making at least a few accessories for the X7, including floor mats and a sun shade. Looks a bit cheap, but functional.

Got the full floormat set from BMW, and I am pleased with it.

I'm having the armrests removed from the Captain's Seats so my kids can access the 3rd row without having the 2nd and 1st row passengers get out of the car in the rain for 60 seconds each time we do a drop-off at a movie theater or a sleepover.

Holy crap! That would be huge for us! Right now my 8 year old shimmies in between the armrests, but there sure isn't much space.

You doing this yourself?

Is it possible to have these instructions shared? Could we get the source of these instructions? Thank you.

I am glad this contribution is helpful; I like paying it back to those who helped me in this great forum.

No, it is it a bit involved as I'm told the back of the seat has to come off in order to access the bolt to remove the armrest. I have spoken to my dealer and he will do this for me upon delivery.

The source of the instructions is a local BMW dealer and their computer database X7 set of step-by-step instructions for their shop techs. Your course of action would be to speak to your dealer and ask him if he would perform this for you.

I'm glad we were able to determine that it is possible to remove the armrests otherwise I do not think I would move forward with the X7 knowing what I know about how the third row seats operate and their impact on the first row and second row passenger inconvenience.

They do exist, I received mine last Thursday, and as of that time there were only 74 sets available in the US so I decided to grab them as they sell out fast and it's soon going to be prime cargo box season.

The difference in size between the front bar and rear bar is substantial, much more than my X5, about 3 inches, so I have the accessories dealer I bought them from confirming that the X7 has a tapered roofline and what I received is correct. I don't doubt it, but I am confirming nonetheless. The front bar doesn't have the wind spoilers and the owners manual shows them in identical sizes so I'm being careful to confirm they fit.

Thanks about the info.

Just curious and seeing if it's possible..... for those who have Bench seats, if they could remove the Middle seat portion, they could get a clean passage to the 3rd row, isn't it? However, I see that you would lose the Drinks tray that the middle seat offers but it would be a clean passage through the floor and no armrests. Don't know if it's even possible.

Glad you mentioned the back of the seat coming off. I started taking things apart slightly and arm rest wasn't coming off at all. Removed screw cover and a 3-4" long hex screw from the arm rest itself. I thought it may slide off after that but it was still on there solid. I'll try removing seat back and see what I see

Was wondering same thing about relative sizing, front vs back. Complicating matters is fact only one of the two pieces has a part number label on it

Exactly. Has me worried.

Could some fine X7 owner put my mind at ease and measure the distance between left and right roof rails at the front of the vehicle and the back?

For those that haven't seen the Bimmerpost news on the homepage, there are 2 new tuning options for the 40i B58 engine. Just in case the 40i just isn't enough, lol.

Neither directly listed the X7 in availability. Although we know the 40i uses the B58 engine. I'd be really interested in these tunes.

True, I noticed that. While they don't specifically list the X7, it's a brand new model. Should be no reason the X7 B58 engine shouldn't work just like every other vehicle B58 engine.

I guess if anyone is interested and wants to be sure, all you have to do is contact the tuning companies to ask.

Just took delivery last week, black grille, color match reflectors and ran a 15MM spacer all around to get the wheels flush.

Has anyone found an exhaust option yet? Has anyone found a 24" wheel setup that still allows for staggered tires. I am having trouble finding avails.

Which spacers did you get? Part# please. Do they have lip?
Thanks

I'm also curious about the spacers. Do you have before and after pics?

And 24" wheels? Holy excess, Batman!
