You guys having a pain free experience with this, connected drive, anything else software related should be really happy things are going smoothly. It has not been smooth with the X5.
For some more perspective, do you know what BMW says if you have a Connected Drive related issue that you call them about? We are working on it. Basically Geniuses are now being instructed to not even bother troubleshooting. That's how bad the depths of issues remain with that functionality. A major developmental undertaking is underway to address some seriously flawed software. Anyhoo, I get my x7 shortly. Will be interesting to see if any of our X5 problems occur on that vehicle. |

I got my X7 updated today. The latest is 03/2019.35. My problem was with the front camera and issues with active cruise control deactivating for 5 to 10 minutes before resetting. I will have to see if it fixes that issue when I take another extended trip. Otherwise, I have not noticed much that is different, yet. It does not fix the issues with my Samsung Android phone. i think the BMW Connected app needs to be updated to address those issues.

For those that have tried and cant find an update, were you on a Wifi network, or were you relying on the build in connect? I saw somewhere that it mentions connection to your home wifi to download updates. Just curious if that makes a difference on whether it is available or not.

I just got the car back last night. There are a couple of apps missing. I have also had some issues playing music over bluetooth on my phone. That could involve the phone, as well, though. I might have to unpair and reconnect to see if that helps if I continue to have issues. I will report if I see any other problems.

Keeping an eye on the X05 software updates. Seems their updates are indeed related to the X7, as their latest is also 03/2019.35. See this thread with G05 issues with this update:

XS Max. 12.2. 11/2018.68 X7 Software and no issues with the Apple Pay pop-up. This was an issue pre-12.2 and on the .57 FW when I picked up the car 3 weeks ago.

That is exactly why I was asking ppagiga to verify which iPhone model he has and what version of iOS is installed. iOS 12.2 appears to have resolved the Apple Pay pop-up problem for everyone on this forum but him. Makes no sense.

So if 12.2 didn’t have an official patch for the x5, what’s unusual to me is that it resolves Apple Pay for the 6 X7 owners in this thread. 15k sample size vs 6 here and 2200 delivered total. Perhaps Apple did somehow address it for one vehicle and not the other. Which would be great. Half our vehicles in our house will no longer have the issue |

As a note, in my 2019 X5 with 11/2018.45 when I traded it in had the applepay issue. Got into my 2019 X7 which had 11/2018.55 and no issues with ApplePay. I was baffled as so many users in the X5 forum with .55 still have issues. So while this doesnt help figure out what is going on, I can confirm it is gone for me in my X7 where it wasnt the same day I traded in my X5. iOS 12.2 the whole time.

Just to be clear, when we took delivery of our X7, Apple Pay was popping up every time we placed our iPhone on the charger but after iOS 12.2 was released that issue was resolved. So that issue was on Apple in the X7. I can't explain why the same remains in the X5.
