Cargo Net
Our X7 was delivered with a cargo net. We didn't see until we opened up the rear cargo panel. Feel like an idiot but I can't figure out where the attachment points to install this net and we haven't had time to go back to the dealer yet to ask. If anyone has pics on how this is supposed to look installed would greatly appreciate!

Thank you. Will have to try this weekend when I have time. Our net looks like a flat basket (if that makes sense) instead of just a rectangular net so that is why I was wondering how it would look installed.

Awesome, thanks! That's exactly the pic I wanted to see, or eventually take for myself. I didn't realize that installing the net in that configuration, with the 3rd row down, requires having the large cargo cover installed.
That's exactly how I'd configure my X7, 99% of the time. Congrats on the new rig! |

I don't usually bump old threads, but for the sake of those doing research on different X7 options and capabilities I figured I would post the other cargo net configuration in the X7 (as I was playing around with it shortly after I took delivery). In addition to being a barrier to help keep things in place, the net is also a mesh "pouch" as well.

When in two row mode you can't latch it without having those silly covers raised which leads to them at risk to damage. Poor design. I wound up using the net from my X5M and anchored it to the "LATCH" bars in the back of the third row seats then attaching the other half to the proper anchors towards the hatch.

Bump with another X7 cargo net option...
My M3 came with a flat cargo net that would essentially fit the entire trunk floor. This was great for strapping things down in the trunk, and I use it regularly to this day. Unfortunately, the cargo net that comes with the X7 will not do this when the 3rd row is folded down - it is too small to reach the four latch down points. I did not initially find one for the X7, but during an internet search, I found a "generic" cargo net on eBay that was originally advertised for the Audi Q7. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Trunk-Floor...72.m2749.l2649 A few more internet searches revealed that the interior dimensions of the Q7 w/3rd row folded down are very similar to the X7 w/3rd row folded down. So for $29, I figured I would give it a shot. Below is what it looks like installed in the X7 and is exactly what I was looking for. I was watching this for a while as I was in no rush to get it. But ironically, right before I pulled the trigger on the above cargo net, I did finally find a large BMW one that would work with the X7. It is listed as being compatible with a lot of other BMW models going as far back as the E46 3-series: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=03_0266 But the cheap SOB in me still decided to get the eBay one instead since it is just a basic cargo net . At ~$60 for the BMW one, it is not bad so I am sure you will be fine with either option. But it is always nice to have options....

With all the luggage in the trunk I want a barrier to prevent any of that luggage from becoming missile hazards in Emergency Braking situations. The net on the floor makes it difficult to slide things in out of the trunk as items snag the netting. Although it does make it easy to anchor items just about anywhere you want them. |

Another pic with the generic cargo net (and cargo area cover) "in action" doing some dirty work. That is a wheel/tire from my wife's X3 and one of my car trailer tires stacked together...
