Based on your X7 ownership....
Question 1 - If you had a do-over, would you purchase again?
Question 2 - If yes to #1, would you change anything about your build? Question 3 - If no to #1, what would you get instead or would you have kept your trade-in, if applicable. |

2) nope, but I got a lot. some things I wasn't sure about, but so happy we go them - LOVE the DHP with IAS, M-sport, night vision, parking cams, and merino leather for instance. I do wish I could have gotten the camera recording feature that is coming out this summer. |

Let me say that I got a very basic build on the 40i since this was kind of outside of my budget. 1. Yes, I would buy again but would probably compare with new GLS before buying. 2. My build is: Extended Murino Leather (a must for personal comfort, very happy with this) Cold Weather Package (a must given the third row vents, not sure I need heated seats on all rows but comes with the package) Parking Assistance Package (this works on and off. It can't seem to find obvious spaces at times and I just end up parking it myself most of the time) Remote start (definitely need to get this, very useful in winter and summer) Things I did not get but wish I had: Driving Assistance package: only reason I want this is to help with traffic jams. I'm still not sure if I fully trust it. Display key: This is so I can lower the car without having to get in. My wife is 5' 2" and I have small kids so this helps. Running boards: Again, same line of car is hard to get in for small kids. Hope this helps |

Yes, definitely would purchase again.
Wish I got the M brake option now just for the looks. It would have been nice to get the camera recording option that's coming out, but couldn't delay purchasing the car. Do hope it can be purchased later |

Id also add that I was worried about the run flat ride on 22s.
I’m inflated to 37/44 and the ride is excellent. Very compliant, rock solid and comfortable but never harsh. Further, in sport mode, sport suspension tuning is a fantastic and not bone rattling (like, for example, in every Benz including the GLS). The vehicle’s stability on highways has been a real surprise to me as well |

2. I’d probably add the B&W sound. That’s the only option i didn’t do, and I’m having remorse. Mostly just because i like the way it looks. |

As a prospective buyer, for those wanting/having the M Brakes, if you knew you'd have to replace pads and rotors every 2.5 years at your cost, would you still do it? I ask because I'm coming from an Audi Q7 S-line Plus which includes the Brembo brakes which are larger and more effective at stopping the heavy suv. The trade off is that the pads and rotors are much softer (as all sportier brakes are) and therefore wear much quicker (especially when stopping such a large vehicle). Being as the X7 is BMW's largest/heaviest SUV so far (although a bit lighter than my Q7) I expect it to eat pads and rotors nearly as quickly (needing fronts and rears every 15k-17k miles or so).

I doubt many people willing to spend $100K+ for a car like this will be very deterred by the cost of brake pads.

My 2017 X5 (w/out M Sport brakes) needed a front brake job at 21K. You can pick up BMW Ultimate Care+ 3yr/36K for $600 that covers brakes, wipers etc thats not included in the standard Ultimate Care.

2. Cold Weather Package. It's awful that BMW didn't put AC vents in the 3rd Row and didn't tell anyone about it. When my kids throw things at me in anger I'm going to shake my head. 3. I went from a 2016 X5 to a 2019 X7 because the lease expired and we're a family of 6 and BMW stopped making X5's with the 3rd Row. But the X7 is a seriously large car and it's unwieldy. It accelerates like a BMW, it's luxurious like a BMW, but it does not handle like a BMW - which is to be expected of such a large vehicle. I can't blame the X7 because I've never owned such a large SUV and am surprised by its size. I really like so much about the X7 but if I'm being honest with myself I would have been happier to be in the new X5 with the 3rd Row. |
