Brake Wear Not Decreasing?

Hey all, my rear and front brakes have been showing the same wear for a while now. Now I don't do crazy braking day to day but is it normal for it to not go down at all? Does it only go down in certain increments?

Wouldn't worry about it. Once you trip the wear sensors you'll know.

I guess my main concern is that maybe something is wrong with the sensor? Maybe when they were installing winter wheels they weren't careful for example.

The wear sensor is a simple contact switch. As the pad wears the tip of the switch is exposed and trips when the coating is worn off exposing the metal tip which makes contact w/the rotor.

IIRC the counter for brake wear is just based on some algorithm.

The wear indicator isn't very accurate either. I had 19,500 miles supposedly left on iDrive, and then the sensor got tripped and a trip to the dealer and reading the key said I had 1150 miles left on the pads.

they last very long, mine took 15k miles on the rear and 25k miles in front to change, driving strongly, with a lot of stupid unnecessary braking !
indeed they are simply contact sensor, works fine to me.
