I appreciate your responses guys! This is exactly why I didn't get any. They sales guy was good! And put some really good scenarios about if I go over a bump I'll possibly crack my rim, blow my tire, and damage the control arm haha i thought to myself this guy is good.

I picked my X7 today and dealership tried to sell maintenance package on me. I didn't sign yet but wanted to see if it is worth.

BMW Platinum Service Agreement - $6799 for 84/120000
Dealer Specific mechanical repair Contract - $5300 84/75000
Tire and Wheel Protection - $2840 for 72 months.

I understand that BMW repairs are costly, but wanted to make sure I spent my money wisely as I'm planning to keep this car for long term.

with the exception of wheel/tire, email cnewman@stevethomasbmw.com for pricing on Platinum Extended and also Maintenance. Much cheaper than dealer offering. I found her email on the M3 forum.

I personally don't trust any dealer warranties. Unless your dealer has a great reputation for this, go for the BMW extended warranty or from a *reputable* 3rd party warranty company.

Tire & wheel seems not worth it either. Chances are you won't need any repairs, and if you do, $3k is much more than you would likely spend out of pocket even if multiple incidents happen.

Fyi/ to fix a curb rash on a 22” X7 wheel should be between $150-225. The wheel/tire warranty is only good if you live where the roads are really bad, like Denver or Chicago. I destroyed 2 run flats and a wheel within 2yrs. on my previous CLS63s and thank goodness I bought the warranty as it would have cost me $5k as you have to also replace the non-punctured tires. Where I live now, I won’t waste the money on the warranty. I hate run-flats

I have never seen tire/ wheel warranties cover the other 3 tires. It has always been that they just replace the corner that is damaged .

Even with something like certificates from discount tires.

You show up with no certs they say you need to replace all 4 tires because the tread depth . Blah blah blah.

You show up with certs and they say they can't replace the other 3 because they are not damaged .

And the you go to trade in and the dealer will get you that one of the tires is newer.

The BMW extended warranties are very expensive and my dealer is offering me one for my 2019 40i from a third party that is half the price.

It's called Maximum Shield and it's from a company called RiskGuard. Anyone here have any experience with this product?

$3,995 and it will take me to 86 months 100K miles.

Any advice appreciated.

Read the fine print to make sure you understand what parts are covered, or more specifically, what parts are not covered, even if it says "bumper-to-bumper" coverage - you may be surprised. Also, take a look to see if you have a $$ claim cap/limit per incident, per year, etc. And finally, find out if Genuine BMW vs OE/OEM vs aftermarket parts will be used for repairs and where you can get the repairs done (i.e. a dealer or Indy shop).

The devil is in the details….

Hey everyone, been working a deal on a CPO X7. I want to get the BMW CPO wrap coverage but the salesman is saying it is 7yr /100K. The BMW website says CPO wrap has unlimited miles… anyone have experience with that coverage? Isn’t it a national program through BMW USA?

I am looking to add BMW Extended Maintenance coverage for my 2022 X7 M50i with 5K miles.
I checked yesterday and this is what I was offered

Can anyone tell me if your BMW dealership can have lower price?

BMW Ultimate care including brakes & rotor:
72 months /100K miles @ $5,000
84 months /125K miles @ $6,450

I use BMW Extended warranty to extend my wife's 2019 X7 BMW warranty and it works well. Her car has 66K miles.

Have you used it for any repairs? How has been your experience? Were the repairs major?

Yes. For my wife's rear seat frame. Replaced no charge to me. Just like the original BMW car warranty. I also have it for my 2022 M50i as well 7years / 100,000 miles. I usually keep my cars for long time

Thanks I emailed her and she is very good, responsive and professional. I will do a deal with her. I wish I also did my BMW genuine extended warranty through her.

Good to know. One of our friends said their driver seat power controls died on them and it costed them 1500 to repair. These things are not typical engine or mechanical components, but expensive to repair. Infact, I am more concerned about electrical components in my X7 than mechanical components.

Did you buy the extended warranty directly from the website or through some agent ?

Please share any details you can. Thanks in advance

Yes.every part and service for this is very expensive. That is why I always have the extended warranty and I get them directly from BMW and not 3rd party. For my 2022 M50i, I got it when I bought the car so there was some negotiation to get better price. For my wife's X7 40i I got it after we bought it but before car warranty was expiring. I always shop to other BMW dealership to get the best price. They do go lower than the websites price. There is a name Email here in this thread you may use (see below) I just contacted her she beat the others quote for BMW maintenance plans. They all also do extended warranty as well.

Just wanted to post this for the benefit of fellow shoppers

Rachel from BMW Tucson gave us a really good price on maintenance package. If you are still shopping, call her ( (520) 990-1488 ) and let her know Divya referred her (BTW, I don't get any $ for referring)

I am only referring because it was a no nonsense transaction and no BS which you get from a lot of Finance managers (regardless of the dealership)

Tire Warrantee Options / Pricing

Hey there! This is my first post so be gentle! I have scoured the forum here already but can't seem to find enough info. I am getting a new 2023 X7 40i in a few weeks and had a questions about Tire Warrantee pricing and if anyone had any good recommendations. Im in MA. The dealer wants $3800 plus for their 5 year warrantee which seems way out of wack and is a hard pass. My previous cars have all been in the $1800 to $2600 range.

1) Can I only buy the BMW tire & wheel package at the time of purchase?
2) Any other recommendations on fair market pricing?
3) Or can you recommend another dealer, if it's an option, who has more seasonable pricing?

Thanks all in advance.
