Comfort: Anyone switch from PZero to PS4S?
Asking solely as it pertains to the comfort of the ride.
My '21 X5M was factory spec'd with PZeros kn the 809's 21/22. Had PZero's on other cars and switching out to PS4S made a large difference in performance and comfort. Even went from PZero's to Toyo R888R on another car and strangely saw a comfort improvement in addition to massive performance upgrade. PZero's seem like you are driving with cement tires. Anytime I drive over a bump in the road it is jarring and my dash rattles a bit. To the point where I'm going to dump this thing at a loss and just get another SUV unless I can find a solution. For the time being I find myself taking my wife's ordinary '22 X5 as the ride is amazing and a fun SUV notwithstanding the anaemic power. Has anyone had front dash rattles that were eliminated with swapping from PZeros to PS4S? Huge comfort improvement? Maybe this is just the wrong car for me so unless there is a large improvement to be had, maybe I just dont waste the $3k for PS4S and sell as-is. Thx.

I have michelin's, dont have any rattles, only from my speakers, but I deff like Michelin's 100times better, I think pirellis are noisy, but I have Pirellis on my Cayenne Coupe, they are ok and I had them on my RRS 22" wheels and those performed really good, I think the x6M suspension its very stiff thats why you are getting some vibration no ?

So I'm wondering if changing to PS4S can make a substantial difference in comfort and make the rattles go away. If yes, then I can be happy keeping the X5M vs giving up now and taking a loss to get another SUV.

I switched earlier this year, didn't notice any comfort change, but they drive so much better. Do it.

Before buying, find someone with M’s and go for a ride. Might not be enough of an improvement for your goals.

As my former 2015 F85 drove much smoother when switching from Pirellis to Michelins, at some 12000 mi with my newer X5M I decided to switch to Michelins. Now I feel a slightly softer ride, more stable in fast straight driving and a better grip in turns - and at 18000 mi they also appear longer lasting, but that's still to be verified. |
