12V power on 7-way pin?
So, we bought the X7 with the expectation of towing our camper.
Since the X7 doesn't have an integrated Brake Controller, like our Denali did, I purchased a Prodigy Wireless Brake Controller. I can not get the unit to obtain power from the vehicle. BMW confirms that the 1-o'clock pin position (#4 pin) has 12V power, but the brake controller refuses to power up. I just got off of the phone with Tekonsha, the Prodigy Manufacturer, and they confirmed that exactly what is happening is a result of the unit not getting power. It's a car problem they say. I am not sure what my options are here. Is there something in the car that is turning the 12V off, has anybody else been successfully able to get a wireless brake controller to work? |

Have you tried testing each of the pins with a voltmeter?
I had an aftermarket 7-pin harness on my X5 and had no issues using the Tekonsha brake controller. |

Very interested in how people are able to set up their brake controllers to get their X7 tow-ready, since I'll be doing that as well.
