12V Battery Issue

I picked up my X7 2 weeks ago and today received a "Replace Battery!" Message. Anyone experienced this?

Was your car a showroom floor model or demonstrator? Because of all the gee-whiz cool features, showroom floor cars can drain batteries very quickly.

I have not, however my two week old car also had less than 100 miles, so I put it on a battery maintainer and the maintainer immediately started charging and signaled that the battery was charging at less than 75% of a full charge. Put it on a battery maintainer and you should be fine.

No, I ordered mine. I picked up 2 days after it arrived so I would not think it was used as a demo.

I got the "replace battery light" after one week of ownership. Took it back to the dealer and they replaced the battery and fixed the recall that just came out.

Is the battery a recall? Or is there a recall on another item? Thank you

The battery was not a recall. I believe the recall had to do with updating power control module(s) with software updates or something of that nature.

One the vehicle says replace battery it will not go away with charging. BMW's have a chip in the battery once the battery is below a certain voltage for a certain amount of time, it trips the fault and replace battery light will not go away unless and new battery is installed and programmed to the vehicle. Honestly it's complete BS there's no way the batteries are actually bad. They easily could be charged and operate fine, but once it throws that fault code. There is no way to get rid of it except replacing it. There is no replace battery recall on the X7
