Photos of Ambient Air

Finally picked up the ride. I was told the package only comes with two flavors vs all four that I got with my G12.

I much preferred the blue one over the orange one.

Very cool, Tattooed I can understand that it only comes with two scents, since I think only two scent packs fit in the system at a time. Would have to do a trial run with all the various scents to see which one(s) I like the best, if any. Or if I'd just end up no fragrance, ionization only.

FreddyBMW the Ambient Air would not be possible aftermarket, as you'd have to plumb into the ventilation system, and reprogram iDrive with extra wiring, to electrically control the Ambient Air module. However, BMW does also make an OEM fragrance stick that you can add to any model, sort of a fancy way of hanging a scented paper Christmas tree from your rearview mirror.

Is this something you have to call them about and have them add on? Is it worth it?

Yes, when you place or modify an order, specify package 4NM. It's not on the normal US Configurator, you have to ask for it. Is it worth it? Up to you, but for $350, I kind of look at it more like "why not?" Even if you don't use it for the scents, I think the ionization is useful.

What's weird is I never asked for it and it's on my build. When we walked through all the options and cost it was never mentioned for me. I'll have to keep digging.

LOL. Awesome, free options!

Actually, I kind of doubt it was added for free. Would be interested to see your build breakdown, and if that was snuck in with a hidden cost, or something. Let us know what you find!

Just so everybody knows, I just called my dealer rep. The Ambient Air Package is available but not standard on either models.

I just added it to mine. By adding it, it removes the CD Prep, which is fine with me. I don't have those things anymore.

To be clear in this thread, 4NM Ambient Air is now officially available in the MY2020 ordering guide. $350 option, and it deletes 65A CD Player Prep.

Yes. We have it. It's very subtle. It same with 2 scents.

Does the Ambient Air package come with an air fragrance set or do you need to purchase additional fragrances separately?

Yup, it should come with two scents from the factory, and you can purchase more options after sale.
