From a performance aspect, I would expect to it to be better as it will be the newest at time of release. 510 HP could mean 122 MPH 1/4 Mile speeds which will be quick.
Now from a feel, looks perspective... can't speak to that until it's driven or seen up close. From the pictures, it doesn't look great... at all. |

Autoblog did a nice "on paper" comparison for the M3 (and the M4):
https://www.autoblog.com/2020/09/22/...ec-comparison/ That doesn't address how they'll stack up in the real world, but it could be a good reference for talking points. |

Audi now has the chance
I wrote this in another thread. I'm nott sure how far along the next RS 5 is in the development stage (I'm sure the chassis and main structural components are all locked in now). But they have this giant opportunity now to beat G8x on weight....
If I was the chief engineer there, having seen these weight figures, i would do anything and everything now to claim the throne from BMW - by spending all my resources and R&D on weight reduction (and to convince the board that it will make the greatest business sense)

Then on top of that, you pull money away from other areas of the car that matter more to the target buyer, so now you've put yourself in that hole, especially if your competitor shows a bigger improvement in those areas than you do. This type of scenario is why what may seem like an obvious opportunity to folks like us sitting on the outside and looking in, isn't always the slam dunk it appears to be. Don't get me wrong, I hope Audi and BMW and everyone else don't continue to make heavier and heavier vehicles every generation. But the reality is that this is unlikely to change. If you want lightweight, your best bet is the true sports car segments. That's where customers who care about weight tend to shop, and hence that's where automakers will spend the money on such measures. |

Something tells me the trap speed will be closer to 123 for the RWD and 124-125 for the AWD (traction does account for [increased] trap speeds on AWD cars, even though the 1/8 to 1/4 mile MPG delta will be likely be lower due to power-to-weight).
I'm guessing 123mph because the M4cs has trapped 122mph and the RWD G8x has a more favorable power-to-weight.

given its RWD only at the start.. i'd be curious to see the 5-60 time that C&D clocks for all the cars they run through...
A few numbers to keep us thinking F82 M4 CS: 3.9 W205 C63s: 4.4 Giulia QF: 4.3 B9 RS5: 4.6 F97 X3MC: 4.7 of the bunch, the X3MC have the biggest gap between the 0-60 and 5-60 time, echoing some of the common complaints about low end torque or "lag" ... we shall see how G8X fares

Once again this car will fall short. Its Not enough power.I would pass on this and get the 600hp hybrid Alfa Romeo GTV coupe. Better looks and performance. Interior might be slightly smaller and tech just shy of idrive 7.

Blackwing CT5-V and CT4-V will be competition. They sound amazing, have CF seats, 6MT, RWD, etc....
Seems like an enthusiast car all the way with the added practicality that a sedan can offer. |

The ATSV is almost amazing too. I just didnt love the engine. Im definitely keeping an eye on the CT*-V. If it has steering feel anything like the newer Camaros itll be glorious. |
