When the F95 arrives in 18 months, then we can revisit if its still a "step down".
No need to get all defensive. X5 still looks to be spectacular

The Q5 and Q7 interiors are almost nothing alike. The quality difference is astounding and the design is completely different.

I'm not an SUV guy, but I really like the look of these two. I also hated the look of the X7 concept, so never thought I'd say that.

I'm liking the clearly different characters, X5 being the sporty one, X7 being the flagship model. Interiors are of course very similar, at parts identical, but I don't really care as long as the ergonomics and quality are topnotch, as we have seen on other recent models.

They are also two of the very few bimmers I'd be happy to have with either the M Sport package or without. No half-arsed jobs here.

In Germany the X7 40i is only 4000 Euros more than the X5 40i, no brainer what I would pick..the X7 Msport looks like a beast..very imposing.

The layout and design of the 2018 Q5 and Q7 is pretty much the same, the only difference is the Q7 has the vent across the whole dash. Controls and their layout are almost identical. Yes, it's still a difference vs. BMW and to a lesser extent, the interior design of current Mercedes but the point is that no one in this segment is making unique interiors for different cars - one size fit all approach.

I think the x7 looks great. Very masculine. X5 looks good too except for the rear imo

Also is there no metric available for X5 third row?
The new X5 doesn't have a third row option I believe. So nothing to compare against, unless you went to the last gen X5.

How come the x5 still has the older corona rings design compared to the newer one on the 3 series, 8, z4 and also this x7? Or they gonna wait for the lci to update it

And, that's because they are completely different cars from one another, as an x3 differs from an X5/X7. Right?
