When X7 was previewed to the general public, I asked myself to delay my own opinion. BMW never built such a vehicle previously. Car designers are inspired by several themes: visual cues from existing brand strategy, competition, and their own creativity.

I will test X7 at some point and without a doubt the driving experience will be satisfying. It will probably feel like X5 Plus and X5 is the second vehicle in our family. One of the best vehicles ever owned.

I see Infiniti QX80 heritage in X7 and this heritage does not appeal to me. I drove QX80 many times and wouldn't buy one.

Dark colors definitely look better.

Not a fan of the proportions. The vertically long grilles look like it was taken off an old fashioned Rolls Royce. The prior shorter and wider grilles relative to a larger front bumper is what has always given BMW a sportier look.

Really struggling to see how anybody could think this looks good. Looks are entirely subjective of course, but objectively you can't deny the proportions of this thing are all over the place.

I'm not a hater, in general I like the direction BMW is going. I don't even really mind the size of the grilles on this, but this is not an aesthetically pleasing vehicle.

Can somone please photoshop a smaller grill on this so we can finally put the debate to an end. I personally think it will look arkward with a "normal" sized grill.

What are the plastic buttons doing on this model again. I thought the press release showed silver buttons for window and door controls.

Probably depends on the trim level, M Sport getting black (i.e. plastic) and the more luxury oriented trim (or X-Line on other models) getting more silver buttons. And those buttons which are always silver regardeless of the trim level are most certainly genuine metal, at least I would hope so (not sure about the A/C vent blades?).

The X7 makes a statement like the Escalade and 7 series sedan that's the sweet spot for this suv I think it's going to sell like crazy! The new X5 is nice but hard to tell apart from the new X3. This X7 in Mineral white with M Sport package and black trim will pop it's trying to compete with Range Rover also.

I will reserve judgement until I see it in real life. I remember hating the back of the current x6m when I saw it in pictures first. I am happy to have a real alternative to choose from in addition to the MB GLE and Cadillac.

Cover the front of the vehicle and it could be a Honda Oddy Minivan. I miss the bulbous x5 bodywork of previous generations, it seems like flat is in right now with SUV/SAV's, and they are all starting to look the same, and looking more and more like van's.

To me, the headlights don't look proportionate to the buck teeth, err, I mean grille.
