Mid 90's for the 40i and 115+ for a 50i is not normal. The vast majority of people are not choosing every single option.

Our 40i is in the mid 80's and I felt like I picked more options than I needed...

Thanks for mentioning this so I didn't have to. For the uninitiated, an I6 is far superior to a V6 in many ways.

Pretty thin color palate, too. Are they bringing additional colors later?
I hope so. If there's not some sort of metallic red available by the time we're in the market it will be a deal breaker for my wife.

You do know that less than a year from now that xDrive50i will turn into an expensive pumpkin when X5 and X7 transition to the new N63 with 70 extra horses, right?

Direct Quote.

At this year's New York Auto Show, BMW AG Sales and Marketing Director Ian Robertson told British car site AutoExpress that the X7 SUV "won't arrive this year or next, but it's well through the development phases," adding "there's very little resemblance to the X5, so it's not an extended wheelbase X5. It's very different—we wanted it to have its own identity."

And it's not.

Using that mentality, a 7 series is an extended 3 series.
Which would you and your family rather be in, especially during a long road trip? I'm sold on the Captain's Chairs alone.

I am ordering an X7 50i and would like some some info on the dynamic handling package, with the M Sport differential. Will this package vastly improve the handling of the X7 compared to the standard M Sport Suspension.I know this is a large SUV but i just want to make sure i get the best sporty suspension setup.

That there is the ~$110,000 question. Inside looks great, its got a phenomenal level of tech, I am sure very comfy for the fam on road trips (kids are pretty excited about the captains chairs). But can it hustle? Even all the auto rags don't seem to have a good view yet. Obviously not buying this thinking it will handle like a sports car but I hope it drives better than a GLS et al. I ordered the dynamic handling package after regretting not having it in our X5.

My guess is it ends up nailing high 4's 0-60 with the 8 pot by the time it ends up being tested given usual conservatism in mfr numbers. Maybe a little optimistic but we'll see.

What's with all the V6 talk? It's an in-line 6 people. BMW has never made a V6, figure it out already. It's bad enough reading all the single digit-er shit on here. The 3er, 4er etc. Call it as it is or don't call it at all people.
End rant

Dead right on the I6. However, 5er is standard BMW company nomenclature, usually appearing in Europe. We Americans shouldn't get our knickers in a bunch just because we want to do something different from what a German car company itself does.

No. They refer to the cars by chassis code/engineering group, not put an er on the end of everything.

The chassis code is fine and what I normally use, but the 5er term is used by BMW itself in Germany.

Lol. Please don't confirm our American arrogance, that other countries have to do things our way. You don't want to use the BMW German nomenclature of 5er, Saloon, etc, no problem. But don't go demanding that as a German company, BMW can't do things the way they want, in their own language. Not the way you want them to be.

Not even close. Range Rover has this taken all the way.

Now, if you include the infotainment, BMW takes the cake by a mile

Lol how can you say it's not even close? Range Rovers still have cheaper plastics in areas. Look at any of the press vids of a loaded up X7, it's hard to find anything cheap in the entire cabin all the way to the bottom of the doors.

I mean sure the Autobiography is legit, but it also costs an entire ///M4 more than the X7.

Dude thank you.

I hate when people tell me I have a v6.

I also have when my 997 is a v6- that's a completely different kind of eye roll since the beast is so balanced.
