Anybody have their order delay this long?
I got my production number since December 11th, 2018. And they haven’t start the production yet. Does anybody know why such a delay? Maybe the package i order?

Welcome to the X7 forum, waiting is what we do best! But seriously, many of us have put deposits down 5 months ago in October during the first minutes of the preorder coming available and our cars are just coming out of production and yet to hit our dealers. Patience is a must

Once you’ve been communicated a production number by the dealer, call the Genius hotline to confirm the week of your build. The vehicle will arrive at the dealer between 1 and 3 weeks after the week of your build

I don’t think that is the reason.I ordered an M Sport that finished production on February 8th and has been stuck in quality ever since. In Canada we are not able to track are BMW’s while they are in production,so i have been tracking another US X7,without the M Sport package on the US BMW My Garage website because it also finished production the same day as my X7.I just wanted to see when it ships, to get an idea when my X7 will ship, without bugging my dealer about shipping info.As you can see,it is also still stuck in quality and it doesn’t have the M Sport package.

I wonder if the 8 cylinder / 5.0i's are delayed and the 6's are flying through? Is yours a 5.0i too? Last edited by Fegelein; 03-06-2019 at 07:26 AM.. |

My dealer in Toronto just said he thinks they are holding them at the plant for the release. But that doesn’t make sense because X7’s are shipping daily right now from the plant. |

More then likely some part is missing or defective and rather than hold up production, the car is put to the side and fixed manually. Seems to happen all the time with new cars.
For example the new 2020 gle had several hundred 450s held at the factory when a defect was found with the rear roof spoiler. That delayed a lot of cars for a few weeks. I would prefer things this way rather then having issues fixed at vpc or worse at a dealer service center.
