MY2020 Changes For the US

Here is a list of changes I have found so far:

- 5 Zone climate control and be ordered without cold weather pack.

- Parking assistance now includes "Driver recorder"

- New Package structure (no need to stack packages)

- 50i and M50i will both be available.

- Manhattan Green Metallic is a new color.

- Laser Lights are exclusive to M50i

I will update this post as I find more changes

Much thanks, Jay. Rather strange info about the 50i and M50i. Will see what shakes out.

Want to see if laser lights do in fact come back for MY2020 as announced.

50i/M50i could be handled in the same way as on the 2020 X5, meaning that there will be a 50i xDrive (non M-Package) and the M50i. so in other words, 50i only on the x-Package.

I really wonder what took all the manufacturers so long to offer that.

Great to see it's coming to the U.S. as well!

I'm most interested for BMW to release the new interior leathers and trims previously announced:

Also curious what happened to the Amarone leather. If that doesn't turn up, I'll be going with the ZBSW (Ind) Black Full Merino Leather.

JayPichardo any word on the new interior trims?

In the X7 2020 ordering and pricing guide I noticed it says 417 manual rear sunshades. Are the motorized ones no longer available?

I put a bunch of observations in that thread about the ordering guides, too. Yes, it does state manual rear shades, for all three models.

I am personally disappointed that Tratufo full Merino leather is not available as that is the color I had set my sights on. I personally wouldn't consider any white interior and I've had enough of black interiors so the only choice I'm left with as far as full merino leather is coffee full merino leather

Remember, though, that coffee — neither extended nor full — is available with captain's chairs.

What on earth? Thanks squeaky for pointing this out to me. I totally overlooked that. Guess I've no choice now but to go with tratufo extended merino leather since I want the 2nd row captains chairs but I believe tratufo full merino leather will be available at some future date because about 5-6 months ago, someone managed to snap an interior pic of a prototype X5 M50i that had a tratufo full merino leather interior. Here are the pics below & if you look closely you will notice that the whole bottom section of the dashboard all the way across from the driver's side to the passenger side glove box area is covered in tratufo leather with contrast stitching. With the extended tratufo merino leather option, this same area is only covered in a soft-touch black material.

The prototype had extended Merino with a X7 leather dash option, where the lower dash is covered in leather.

The prototype does not have a full Tartufo merino interior. You can visually identify full leather option by lower door panel with contrast stitching. See attached.

Somebody mentioned that " full" leather on the X5 never covered the lower door sections on previous X5s before which would explain why the prototype didn't have it, either. If that's accurate, I don't know. It was also mentioned that the full, full leather might be reserved for the X5M.

Nice though that the X7 is getting it.

That is entirely accurate. I had the previous generation X5 and X5M. My X5M has leather on lower part of door and lower section of middle section near footwell. That wasn't available in my regular X5. We have the white and blue individual leather in X7. I did notice that the lower door section wasn't leather, but it's very soft and You can't tell it's not leather by looking at it. Only when you touch it and compare to upper door sectional can you detect a difference.

I believe it is typo on 417 details, it happened to me also when I pre-order my X7 with Premium Package, I had to confirm with my sales rep and it came out as 417-Rear Electric Side Window Shades.

ZPP Premium Package 3,000.00
1CR Remote Engine Start N/C
323 Soft-close automatic doors N/C
417 Rear electric side window shades N/C
442 Heated and Cooled Cupholders N/C
610 Head-up Display N/C
6U8 Gesture Control N/C

Any how, just check with sale rep after a bulid.

Yeah, that discrepancy continues. I wonder why that's happening? The USA configurator still says electric. Ordering guides say manual.
