Is it that noticeable? I've read the xdrive 50i actually does better than BMW's stated 5.2 seconds, more like high 4.x seconds. Is this correct?

You will find that BMW traditionally underestimates their 0-60 times. Likely to impress reviewers. But who really knows the real reason. 16 years working for this company and I'm convinced that no one REALLY knows why they do some of the stuff they do. But DANG do they build some nice driving cars and SAVs!!

M50i, factory spec to 60 mph, 4.5 seconds.

If 50i does better than 5.2, so will M50i than the stated 4.5 sec.
PORSCHE does the same with their cars, shave off around 0.2-0.3 sec. Don't know why they do it, maybe "under promise, over deliver".
